Throughout my career, my primary focus has been working with clients with either severe traumatic experiences and/or extensive trauma histories.I love working and supporting people through life transitions and exploration of identity. I have worked with many clients who hold identities within the LGBTQIA2+ community. I can relate to many of the challenges experienced by members of marginalized, oppressed, and minority communities. A portion of my professional career has included working with primarily BIPOC clients in Detroit, veterans, people living in different-sized bodies, and those who have concerns around foster care/adoption. Religious trauma has been particularly prevalent for LBGTQIA2+ communities and others. I am especially equipped with the background, training and skills to provide compassionate care for clients who have this experience and may be seeking support processing this type of trauma. I also have a special interest in working with spiritual exploration at any level No matter your identity, history, or reason for seeking therapy, I will do my very best to understand YOUR individual experience and needs. I will affirm your truth and believe your story. My hope is that our work together will lead to an increased sense of quality of life, fulfillment, and greater overall health.

I believe all people have profound inherent worth, and that self-acceptance and compassion are core components of living well. Anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional difficulties can cloud our ability to see ourselves as whole, beautiful, functioning people, and I work warmly, respectfully, and joyfully to help my clients get movement in areas where they may feel stuck. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, phobias, grief, and issues related to couples and relationships. I help people to build self-efficacy and acceptance using principles from cognitive behavioral (CBT), acceptance and commitment (ACT), and dialectical behavioral therapies (DBT), among other interpersonal, strengths based approaches. It is my great joy to support people as they build meaningful, authentic, and effective lives. If you are struggling and looking for ways to feel seen, heard, and understood, please reach out. I am currently accepting clients for virtual or in person meetings.

I believe that change happens when we go on endlessly creating ourselves. I offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a short-term form of trauma therapy. Our work together will consist of diminishing the limiting negative beliefs that interrupt your everyday life and decreasing the distressing emotional and physical responses to traumatic memories and experiences. ART uses a combination of creative visualization, somatic awareness, and eye movements to quickly and gently transform the way you remember and respond to past traumatic experiences. ART is also proven effective in treating depression, grief, anxiety and phobias. My approach can be tailored to your needs to also include cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness and other psychodynamic approaches.
