As some people like to say: when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! However, in those moments of hardship or change, hurt or grief, this isn't always the easiest task. That is where I come in! I have a strange belief that, as therapists, when we are kind, supportive and real, and we seem like real human beings ourselves, therapy can be a lot more successful. A strong, trusting bond within the therapeutic relationship is essential for progress, and I hope that by being real myself, I can invite you to be your authentic, vulnerable self in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space with me. I have been trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a contemporary model rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, that's focus is less on removing negative or unhelpful thoughts and more-so on increasing psychological flexibility so we can accept our thoughts and commit to action that aligns with our values. I think we have all been in a place in our lives where we have said to ourselves: "When it rains, it pours". Life can be unfair and unpredictable, and it's only natural that sometimes we get drenched. It is hard feeling alone and distracted in the storm, and that is what I am here for: to sit in the rain with you until it clears.
