No matter our background, our journey through life encounters major transitions. Those transitions have a way of making us doubt ourselves. As we try to navigate a new world (whether it is starting school, a new job or life in a new world), we come to know ourselves in ways that we never thought possible. The journey can get ugly at times. When things are hard, we may disconnect from ourselves and the people around us. Wherever you are in your journey, my goal is to help you reconnect to the things that drive meaning, purpose and satisfaction in your life. As a MENA therapist, these are the things that drive meaning in my work with you. Like the navigator in your car: If you tell me where you want to go, I can help you uncover what lies ahead and navigate through it. My work is based in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), incorporating mindfulness, intentionality and social context. No matter the ordeal that brings you in, I aspire to create an anchoring space that invites calm, reflection and malleability. Like the “Room of Requirement,” a space that can transform to meet your needs in the moment. A space where you can feel more freely so that you may live more freely.

In a culture plagued by loneliness, exploitation, and uncertainty, it is understandable to feel that things are not going as well as you'd like them to be. Gentle guidance can help you move toward a solid place even in difficult circumstances. I'm Helen, and I'm a scientist-practitioner focused on root-cause healing. Clients and I collaborate to cultivate security and connection both internally and externally. In our work together, we will gradually clarify, release, and integrate layers of identity and emotional experience; navigate here-and-now problems; and work toward solidifying foundational life structures. Meeting and unburdening unheard parts of ourselves can lead to lasting change. I specialize in long-term depth and shadow work, somatic work, artistic expression, and psychedelic integration. I am currently pursuing certification in Somatic Experiencing, a body-focused trauma therapy. I have particular interest in working with clients with complex trauma. Thank you for having the courage to begin this vulnerable process. It is my priority to offer a dignified, culturally responsive, and compassionate space for people from all backgrounds, and to establish trust and emotional safety as prerequisites to effective therapeutic work. If you think we could work well together, I would love to hear from you.

Helping people who feel stuck get unstuck is my passion. Finding balance and addressing feeling disconnected or overwhelmed. Offering enthusiastic support and new perspectives on the underlying reasons a person or couple is struggling and then how to make real change. Often, this includes helping people learn how to better identify and communicate their needs and hopes and desires. I have an authentic, welcoming, and direct approach. My clinical focus is supporting people in finding satisfaction and enjoying meaningful relationships, including working through both big and small transitions. I am an advocate for social justice and marginalized groups. I am affirming of LGBTQ+ individuals as well as neurodivergent individuals. I have additional experience in supporting parents. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as an MN-BSW Approved Clinical Supervisor. I work with young adults, adults, couples and families. I believe in providing space to show up as your authentic self and believe that transformative work begins through connection with a trusted therapist. I pull from my own life experiences and weave many therapeutic approaches into my work. My goal is to join with you in your healing, and I am committed to providing a supportive, caring, and nonjudgmental space in order to witness and explore your stories. I value transparency in therapeutic work and believe that therapy is a partnership The foundations of my work stem from the Polyvagal Theory, specifically connecting to and exploring how the body responds in service of our safety. I am a certified Brainspotting practitioner, and this along with the Polyvagal Theory, parts work (IFS) and narrative approaches have become very influential in my work and have helped those I team with to heal In my work, I explore how one’s past can affect one’s present and the ways in which our bodies have adapted in service of safety. I am passionate about joining you to hear your stories, learn from your experiences, and be curious about how your stories and journey have been shaped and stored in the body.

The power of relationship and being present and embodied guide my work in supporting people dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, life-transitions, grief, health issues, or other challenges. My approach is built on compassion, care and respect for the experiences and identities that make you who you are. If you have suffered traumatic or difficult experience, from birth till now, want to be at home in yourself and with others; if you are trying to navigate a world that too easily permits oppression, or you want to grow the kernels of wholeness (even if hidden) within you, I hope to explore working together. I utilize experiential healing modalities including Transforming Touch, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, AEDP, and parts work, drawing from IFS and TIST. Since 2006 I've had a meditation practice, and support people in exploring mindfulness. Social justice perspectives, including cultural humility and unlearning white supremacy, deeply inform my work. I believe our bodies, minds and hearts, in relationship with others, hold keys to healing and thriving, even when we are struggling. In partnership with you, I am committed to supporting you in discovering and living into greater regulation and balance, at a pace that is right for you. Note: As an LGSW, I work under supervision of Tracy R. Williams, LICSW.

I am a licensed professional counselor specializing in trauma, perinatal mental health, and attachment issues. I work with acute and complex traumas, with the understanding trauma is truly in the eye of the beholder. Trauma can be overwhelming. We can find ourselves stuck in the same patterns. I have worked with individuals who have childhood abuse/neglect, sexual assault, medical trauma, trauma from being a first responder, and traumatic loss. Relationships are complex and can be frustrating. Perhaps, you don’t feel attached to your child or are struggling being a parent. You find yourself at odds with your own family, or you continue to find yourself in unhealthy relationship patterns. I would be happy to be a guide in navigating these difficult relationships through an attachment lens. I work with individuals to support their own unique journey while challenging them to confront what is holding them back from being fully involved in their own life. Talking about problems confidentially to someone who cares can give new hope and direction. I am humbled by providing compassionate exploration.
