I believe you deserve a space that is nonjudgmental, and open while exploring what it is you need. You may notice a sense of sadness that's hard to describe or understand. Are you constantly thinking about the "what-ifs" that distract from your current life? It's my goal to help you feel in control of your pain and worry rather than it feeling like it's in control of you. If you are experiencing loss or grief, I'm here to sit with you in those sometimes difficult feelings while also exploring what tools you need to help with the day to day. I work with those who have traumatic or distressing experiences they would like to process. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I use these modalities to help with learning skills to cope with present stressors or difficulties in a person's life. When a person feels ready to process past traumatic or distressing experiences I use EMDR and expressive therapies for this. I know it can be a difficult decision to reach out to a therapist and I am here for you when you are ready. If you notice feeling overwhelmed, out of control, have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning, or turning off your mind. I can help you or your loved one by providing a safe space for self-exploration and growth. Call to schedule an appointment

Only taking clients for evaluation services. The clients I see often struggle with behavioral concerns and the impairment that comes from these concerns, such as difficulties related to ADHD or deficits in executive functioning skills, and Autism. In addition, I frequently work with young clients and their parents to address impairment related to mood (anxiety, depression) and the development of healthy coping strategies and problem solving skills. Clients who see me are asked to be active participants in therapy in order to achieve the change they want to see in their lives! Only taking clients for evaluations. Behavior change requires motivation and commitment and is no easy task; I strive to support my clients and their families in identifying meaningful (and relevant) goals and helping them to develop the skills and resources they need to create change. I use a behavioral approach, including cognitive and motivational tools. Only taking clients for evaluation services. If you or your child are struggling, you are not alone. If you could have made the change on your own, you probably would have already; this is hard work. I am here to listen, provide supportive feedback, and guide you in developing the skills and resources you need to live your life they way you want to.

Many of my clients have had previous experiences in therapy before reaching my office. They feel at the end of their rope as traditional talk therapy hasn't facilitated the changes they need. They often hear how resilient or insightful they are but struggle to feel closeness and safety in relationships or to access positive emotions. Or, they might have been told that the intensity of their emotions is too much for their therapist or loved ones to handle. Overall, they are looking for therapist with an in-depth approach for their specific concerns, and are ready connect with a clinician who is invested in doing just that. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I use DBT to treat clients who experience persistent emotional dysregulation, and EMDR to treat the impact of past trauma on current functioning. Untreated trauma can generate emotional dysregulation, so subsequent treatments are often indicated. You're tired of being stuck in the same patterns and are ready to dig in and create meaningful change. So, let's get to work.

Are you working really hard at life without the outcomes you want? It can feel exhausting. Without the ability to effectively manage and cope with life's demands, a person's world can become a place filled with missed opportunities and experiences; a place of unrelenting anxiety, suffering and feelings of isolation. Change is hard and change is possibIe. It's about learning skills to do differently to live differently in a manner of your choosing. I'm a therapist who uses behavior-focused, outcome-driven treatments to address the symptoms of OCD, OCPD, PTSD, anorexia nervosa, anxiety and depression to increase quality in your life. I specialize in Radically Open DBT and the diagnoses and unwanted life outcomes that result from extremes of over control of thoughts, emotions and actions. I have also trained specifically to work with survivors of all types of abuse. To share in the experience of empowerment that comes from the awareness of choice is my greatest motivator to do this work. My clients have been working so hard at everything and yet, they often feel hurt, alone and so tired from the ways in which they have coped so far. A lot just does not make sense. Life feels invalidating and outcomes confirm it. I am honored, humbled and inspired by the courage of those who seek treatment despite feeling anxious, depressed and exhausted.

As a scientist that has worked for a decade in drug metabolism research, both in Italy and the US, I always attempt to utilize evidence based interventions with my clients. When dealing with 'softer' sciences surrounding the mental health field, the best course of treatment is often difficult to ascertain. I strive to provide a collaborative, empirical, transparent process which adopts the best evidence based approaches to your unique, personal treatment needs. I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and working with you! I specialize in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with people that may have difficulties controlling their emotions and impulses and therefore may find it hard to keep relationships. Experiencing feelings of emptiness, problems coping with abandonment, a rapidly changing view of others, quick changes in mood and self harm are not uncommon. I am particularly proud of working with individuals struggling with addictions and personality disorders, I am even more proud of being able to assist effectively the people that love them.

I am accepting new clients. I've provided and supervised Mental Health (MH) and Substance Use counseling services for over 25 years in a variety of settings with all age groups. My experience and training has convinced me of several things - relationships define our sense of self; we look to our relationships for comfort and safety; Mental Wellness encompasses a Mind, Body and Spirit approach. I believe successful counseling is a commitment to create a place that allows each person to communicate their needs at a more genuine level and practice more effective ways of relating to others and taking an active role in one's health. I have a strengths-based, solution-focused CBT approach, geared to remove the barriers that interfere with your health and happiness. When addictive behaviors are identified, I employ a Stages of Change Model along with Motivational Interviewing to initiate change, improve brain health and address underlying trauma or unresolved MH concerns. When you choose to seek help, support will be provided to identify and learn new coping skills, develop insight into thoughts and behaviors that may contribute to current difficulties.
