Counseling is a space used to move into deeper connection with yourself and to release old patterns of being that no longer serve you. I believe when you gain self-regulation skills, self-awareness, and self-acceptance, then you can create the change you seek and experience more freedom/ease. My hope is that you feel safe and fully accepted in my presence so you can explore the more painful parts of your life and honor your strengths. My approach to counseling is client driven and collaborative. I use mindfulness and somatic-based, culturally sensitive, and trauma informed interventions with clients. In the past 9 years, I have worked in many healing-oriented spaces and received training in various modalities including wilderness therapy, yoga, and gestalt therapy. My experiences have both taught me about myself and allowed me to serve people enduring a wide range of issues. I passionately provide a warm and affirming space to all folks. If you feel drawn to work with me, please reach out. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your healing journey. All are welcome here. "Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." -CG Jung.

Are you finding it hard to enjoy the things you love, like school, hobbies, or because of your anxiety? Do you feel like your anxiety is getting in the way of your relationships, and causing physical symptoms like headaches or stomachaches? The good news is that with the right support and tools, you can learn to manage your anxiety and start living a more fulfilling life. I know how important it is to feel like your therapist is on your side and understands what you're going through. When you're struggling with anxiety, it can feel like no one else really gets it. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space. At the heart of my approach is an understanding that our thoughts and beliefs have a powerful impact on our emotions and reactions. Sometimes, we're not even aware of the thoughts we're having or how they're influencing us. Let's explore how your thoughts and beliefs are contributing to your anxiety. We'll identify any negative self-talk that may be holding you back, and work to reframe those thoughts in a more helpful way. By gaining a deeper understanding of your thought patterns and learning to change them, you'll be better equipped to manage your anxiety and build a more fulfilling life.

I am a EMDR and brainspotting practitioner and I am also a certified clinical hypnotherapist. I have studied energy work such as reiki. Much of my work experience has been working with individuals, adolescents, and those in crisis. I work often with depression and anxiety. I believe our relationship with ourselves is extremely important. When you punish yourself, you prevent the connections and love in your life you so desire. Utilizing EMDR, focused mindfulness, hypnosis, and energy work, I help to teach how to listen to your inner self and rebuild that relationship into a loving one. I focus on not just the mind, but the body and spirit as well. I believe there is so much more to this world than we can see and I help my clients reconnect with their intuition and built trust in themselves. As Jung eloquently puts it, who looks outside dreams; who looks inside awakens.

The teenage years can be really tough on teens AND their parents. Changes happen that can throw their emotions on a rollercoaster -- sadness, worry or anger can take over. Friends can push a teen toward dangerous choices. Add on the stress of high school, early romantic relationships, working towards independence, and there are all sorts of places that a teenager can struggle. It takes a special sort of counselor to work with a teen. Someone who is serious and kind when they struggle, but keeps a sense of humor, wonder and joy that can connect with them past those struggles. Teenagers are learning to be adults. That presents a huge opportunity if we embrace it. Teenagers are more open to new ideas than many people realize. With the right guidance, they can enter adulthood with an amazing amount strength and understanding. I love helping teens and seeing that change. Your child and your family are worth it. Call me for a free phone consultation. I will talk with you about your struggle and how I can help. If your teen is struggling, don't wait and see if they find a way out. Let me help guide them.

In 2008 I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Masters in Counseling. Since 2010, I have been a counselor in the Bozeman school district, and in 2014, I took a position working part-time at the nCenter in Belgrade. I am trained as a Safe-ti (School and Family Engagement - Trauma Informed) specialist, and I work with children and adolescents who have been traumatized. I love my work because I know the value to children, adolescents and parents in facing these difficulties before adulthood. I use this same skill set to work with adults who have experienced past or present trauma. My theoretical orientation is person-centered therapy focusing on a strong interpersonal relationship that promotes a sense of safety and acceptance. I work to understand the needs of individuals and support them to recognize their strengths and ways to empower themselves, and I am particularly trained to work with clients who have experienced trauma. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy into my sessions and teach clients how trauma affects their perceptions of the world around them. I also collaborate with the nCenter to offer qEEG brain maps, neurofeedback and/or nutritional counseling through our clinic. These combinations can have a powerful healing effect for clients who have a trauma history.

We got this! Together, we can explore the obstacles you are facing and turn them into opportunities for a happier life and healthier relationships. Sometimes life is just plain difficult, and it seems like no matter which way you turn, you are blocked. It’s frustrating and scary and there seems to be no way out of the box we are in. But it is the choices we make during those very times that open, or create, the windows and doors we need. It is about taking in and making sense of the information our emotions and experiences are providing us and figuring out how to turn those insights into action. View 3 Photos I have practiced from a relational systems perspective for 20+ years. I love helping people figure out what they need and want and how best to achieve their goals. We are each capable of moving mountains, or at least having healthier, happier relationships – and the first step is looking within and using our own strengths to navigate the challenges we face. If you’re feeling angry, sad, anxious, or lonely, there is a good reason for it. We have all developed emotional responses and patterns that served to protect us. And, we can choose new thoughts, develop new habits, and create new belief systems that are more helpful now. If we can change our patterns we can change our relationships. Let's do this together!

We can learn, practice and execute skills to help us be the best version of ourselves on and off the field and I'm excited to join you on the journey to find your best today. NOT an athlete? My approach to counseling is practical, supportive, & collaborative. By forming an authentic professional relationship while working to alleviate distress, my goal is for therapy to feel safe & effective. My background includes 15 years in community organizations which gave me a rich experience treating different challenges including relationship conflicts, anxiety, grief, sexual assault, abuse, trauma, & postpartum challenges. I specialize in trauma recovery & maternal mental health but treat a variety of symptoms. I am a rostered Provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy which is endorsed by the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies as a best practice to treat PTSD. I am also trained in perinatal Interpersonal Therapy and certified (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. Engaging in therapy is brave and takes a lot of strength. I believe that we all have the ability to address and manage our personal challenges. We often just need assistance in identifying and implementing skills to do so.

I have experience working with all sorts of different people in all sorts of different walks of life. I love the variety. If I had to pick an ideal client, I tend to work well with head first, heart second (but not less) sort of people. My background roots are in philosophy, my interests are in the mystic, and my love is the human experience - all of it. My clients come to me for a slew of reasons, but the overall gist of it is they want to enjoy life. That typically means creating a better life, or living the life they have already, but better, or a combination of the two. I like to come along for a while to support that process. I am largely trained in the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy modalities including western evidence based CBT/DBT, Logic-Based Therapy (LBT), Emotional/Rational Therapy (ERT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My approach is pretty eclectic. I am happily a bit of a nerd and love learning new modalities. Living life can be hard. It might be hard to live in your head with anxiety or depression, hard to live in your body with chronic illness or sensory issues, hard to live in your world with relationships or trauma. I'd like to find out if I can help. Give me a call, shoot me a text, or send me an email and we can see if we are a good fit for each other.
