I believe that therapy should not only be individualized to support the child and family in terms of the challenges they are currently facing, but I also believe therapy should be individualized in terms of the location I serve it. Providing therapy where the need is means that therapy can be delivered in multiple domains such as office, home and childcare settings. My role is to help you and support you in your journey as parents and caregivers through challenging times and transitions. I am a behaviorist that takes on a strength based and family systems approach. I believe that every child has skills and strengths to build on. I specialize in working with children 3-18 years of age with varying challenges and needs. I differ from typical therapists as I am also a "mobile" therapist. I am nationally rostered in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy and specialize working with children with multiple needs such as autism or developmental delays. I believe that every child and every family has strengths and skills to build on; my role is to help support children and families through the journey in a nonjudgmental and caring manner to find what best meets your goals and your idea of a happy, safe and successful life with your family and children.

Your story is important. We all give meaning to our own experiences, and sometimes our attempts to "make sense of it all" leave us feeling hopeless, inadequate, confused, lost, or angry. The "reasons" we act or feel the way we do are not always clear, and it can take a little digging to get to the root of things. The negative thoughts and feelings that exist within us can become draining and exhausting when we don't know what to do with them. Sometimes, because of the way we feel about ourselves, we struggle to feel secure in our own identity. As a therapist, I am interested in your story - as you see it through your own lens. As a clinician I do not pretend to know you better than you know yourself. Rather, I seek to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and try to do so with compassion and respect. I am LGBT-identified, and affirming/welcoming of all identities. I work with clients pre-teen (11-12ish) or older, but working with teens and young adults is my jam. My goal is to help empower you to recognize the influence you have over the way your own story unfolds, and the meaning you are able to create from it. My style is eclectic and suited to best match the you, the client. I often pull from approaches including CBT, Internal Family Systems(IFS), Narrative therapy, & Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT).

Emotions can be "scary," but I will help you unpack the heaviness of weighted emotions to feel lighter to live the life you imagined. I am optimistic that I can help you process and explore those emotions to develop healthy techniques further for “taking the control back” in situations. I'll collaborate with you to help you achieve your goals and understand your boundaries. I offer skills, strategies, and feedback to invite new ideas and change. By using mindful self-compassion and cognitive behavioral skills, I am hopeful that we quiet the hostile critic and work on being our biggest cheerleaders. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and a strength-based approach when meeting with clients to provide a collaborative experience in managing anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. I am passionate about wellness to help individuals uncover mind-body connections to promote an overall active, healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. I firmly believe in acknowledging client's strengths as they overcome shame and guilt from past life experiences. In doing this, I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for clients to achieve goals and find their "inner voice" to become empowered, more vulnerable and more self-compassionate in their lives.

I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients are able to express their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I place heavy importance on developing a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship to encourage clients to develop better coping skills that empower them to reach their therapeutic goals. I enjoy working with individuals ages 16 and up, in all stages of life. My areas of focus include grief and loss, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, attachment issues, stress management and coping techniques, social issues/peer pressure, adjustment and transition issues, body image and self-esteem issues. My counseling style focuses upon developing an in-depth understanding of the client, their struggles in the current moment, and their personal experiences. I understand the importance of having a person that you can lean on, so I understand and appreciate the significance and value of having someone that people can depend on in their time of need. I strive to help clients feel safe by developing genuine relationships, and walking with them through the therapeutic process.

Clients tend to focus on the problem and want to "fix" the problem and reach their end goal. What I try to challenge my clients here is that instead of focusing on the problem, let us try focusing on solutions. Instead of focusing on an end goal, let us try walking through this life changing journey together. As a therapist, a positive therapeutic relationship and patience is key to fully understand and slowly opening up the shell of vulnerability. Once the client has allowed the therapist into their vulnerability, positive change can start to occur. My speciality is connecting with my clients while maintaining a neutral stance on their issues. I offer a warming environment where my clients can share their vulnerabilities as well as their strengths. I try to create a safe and judgement free space for my clients for them to share their life with me. I invite you to take the first step into your journey of change. I will be with you every step of the way through your journey by listening, connecting, understanding, and empathizing with you. Let us build a trusting, positive therapeutic relationship together.

There are many reasons people seek counseling, but regardless of the reasons, I believe that enhanced awareness and acceptance are pivotal to understanding how personal histories have shaped the way we perceive ourselves, others, and the environment in which we function. Therapy provides the opportunity for growth, self-discovery, and insight in an emotionally supportive environment. Each client is unique in their strengths and struggles which is why therapeutic approaches are individually tailored for an optimally successful experience. Marriage, Couples, Family, and Individual Counseling – I use an eclectic theoretical orientation to help clients identify meaning in their life and create goals to move towards wellness. I help couples reconnect spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Communication is key to success. I also work with clients trying to manage trauma, eating disorders, change of life crises, addiction, depression, anxiety, and many more. I use an integrated approach by coordinating treatment with your medical provider to make sure your doctor and our treatment goals are aligned.
