Many of us go through periods in life where things feel heavy and look dark. Often, we can’t see a way out but there is always a way. We are capable of much more than we believe especially when we feel down. Mental health symptoms can alter our perception and understanding of ourselves, others, and the world. I have learned that during these periods, external supports can be beneficial. I hope to help you reach your goals through personal growth while challenging current thought processes and perceptions. In addition to CBT, I incorporate strengths based therapy and person-centered approaches as we can prosper from acknowledging our strengths and areas of growth. I look forward to meeting you and helping you get started on your mental health journey!

My goal as a psychologist is to increase self-awareness and create positive change in a nonjudgmental environment. Psychotherapy can relieve emotional distress, improve one's quality of life, help process painful events and increase self-awareness. Unfortunately many people are conflicted about the decision to get help and may see psychotherapy as a sign of weakness. It has been my experience that people who are unhappy for whatever reason and choose to go to psychotherapy are being assertive, healthy, and courageous in the handling of their problems. I am a generalist practitioner. I treat patients who range widely in age and presenting issues. Such issues include: Depression, anxiety, health issues (stress, pain management, smoking cessation, obesity), divorce recovery (for adults and children), adoption, low self-esteem, abuse survivors, PTSD, ADHD, grief, couples problems and psychological testing. I work independently and offer a private, comfortable setting. I have flexibility in hours and am happy to accommodate my patient's work/school schedules.

First of all, you are not crazy! You may be under a “crazy” amount of stress, but you are not crazy. Good on you for trying to get help! We all need someone to talk with sometimes and get things out of our system to find ourselves again. For 12 years, I have been obtaining experiences to enable my work with college students, adults, essential workers, healthcare professionals and clients for mental health concerns. I began with studying music therapy, transitioned into family and community services, then career counseling, college counseling, and academic counseling with healthcare students and professionals. In individual therapy I can help with : Relationship Issues, Low Self Esteem, Anxiety Grief , Depression, Learning Disabilities, Career /Academic Counseling, Post-Traumatic Stress, and Panic Disorder; In Couple Therapy I can help with issues related to: First Time Parents, Empty Nesters, Military and Cross-Cultural couples Maybe your background does not fit either the college student/young adult or healthcare professional, and that is completely fine! I am ready to journey with you as you work towards the best version of yourself. When you are ready, I would be happy to consult and see if we may be a good fit for a therapeutic relationship.
