I see many clients who struggle with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, panic attacks, and grief. While fulfilling relationships strengthen emotional well-being, mental health issues are often manifestations of unhealthy relationships. We may find ourselves clinging persistently to the past, where early dysfunctional patterns of relating to others created templates for all future relationships. These patterns often lead to distorted beliefs and expectations of others and ourselves. My role as a therapist is to help undo the effects of these earlier damaging interactions and to find new ways of relating to others. View 10 Photos Therapy should feel like an interactive and ongoing conversation. It is important to find a therapist that feels like a good "fit" to you. Clients have described me as relatable and "real." I believe it is just as important to laugh as it is to feel every other emotion in therapy. I am a doctoral-level therapist with over 20 years experience in direct practice. I am relationally-oriented, incorporating modern attachment, object-relations, and intersubjective theories. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples. I look forward to meeting you and letting you decide if we will work well together.

My name is Maggie Hutchins. I currently hold both a LPC and a certificate in K-12 School Counseling in NJ. I have worked in the counseling/helping field since 2006. My career has taken me along different paths but, this time, I have created one for myself with Roots to Grow Behavioral Health and Wellness It is important to me to have a space that allows me to be creative in my therapeutic practice. I utilize different modalities to accommodate each of my client's individual needs. No one person is the same, so no one theory or intervention is right for everyone. My practice is very client centered. My goal is always to meet you where you are and help you create goals for yourself, your child, or your family. I look forward to having the opportunity to help you, or your child, reach your goals, develop essential skills and move on through all of life's ups and downs. No matter your age, or where you are in life, there is always an opportunity to grow

Are you lost in your emotions and feel like life is “unraveling”? One of the bravest things you can do is seek help and begin to understand your own story. Early life experiences shape how we see ourselves and the world around us that can develop into negative beliefs about who we are. Over time old beliefs and patterns that once helped protect us are no longer useful and can cause disruption in all areas of life. Life is too short to surrender to bad relationships, let trauma control us or feel anxious/depressed/angry all the time. You deserve to live a life that makes you excited to wake up every morning. I want you to be free of emotional pain and find meaning and purpose in all areas of your life. We will work together to shift old patterns, and understand unconscious limiting beliefs that have created barriers and caused you to feel stuck. My goal is to create a safe environment where you can be yourself and be heard without judgment or fear. I use an integrative approach incorporating psychodynamic and somatic therapy (EMDR, Hakomi & Somatic Experiencing techniques). Taking the first step can feel scary, but you don't have to be alone. I am honored to take this healing journey with you and support you on your path to wholeness. I look forward to speaking with you.
