My therapeutic approach is eclectic and focused on the whole person, while incorporating the unique experience and perspective of every individual. Collaboration is critical in the therapeutic process, and I approach this with empathy and understanding. Every client I work with deserves to have a safe and supportive space to be seen, heard, validated, and understood without judgment. Whether you are facing past or present difficulties, personal challenges, relationship difficulties, or family challenges, we can work together to navigate these challenges and shift to a more positive direction in your life. Therapies I have education and experience with include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, The Gottman Method (for couples/spouses), Art Therapy, and Play Therapy. I have experience working with diverse populations including children, adolescents, and adults; and I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. I am looking forward to working together to help you achieve your therapeutic goals.

Life is challenging, and relationships can be complex. Navigating these intricacies without losing ourselves is a significant challenge. When we add factors like trauma, loss, self-esteem issues, relationship conflicts, addiction, and depression, our entire worldview can shift. My objective is to assist you in navigating this journey, discovering your truth, and guiding you toward a life that brings you happiness and peace. Overcoming internal struggles and vocalizing your thoughts are pivotal for change and growth. While nurturing healthy connections is vital for happiness, the key lies in how well you care for and honor yourself. I empower my clients through trust-building and ongoing challenges to work towards their goals. My goal is to assist each client in building a personalized "toolbox" of strategies and skills, enabling them to reduce stress, enhance communication in relationships, process emotions, tackle intrusive thoughts, and address other common life obstacles. I see therapy as a journey to intimately understand ourselves and strive to live authentically as our best selves. If you're ready to embrace the challenge of cultivating self-love and living with authenticity and freedom, I would love to hear from you.

Hello! My name is Renee` Marter and I am a Licensed Social Worker in supervision for my License in Clinical Social Work. I received my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Rutgers University in Camden and my graduate degree in Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University in New Brunswick in the Addiction Counselor Training (ACT) Certificate program. I am proud to have my TF-CBT Certification through the successful completion of the National Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Therapist Certification Program. This is a wonderful therapeutic intervention for youth ages 3 to 18, who have experienced trauma. I am currently and excitedly working toward my certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My professional aspirations are much more than a tool for me to earn a livelihood – it is my passion. As my passion it is my hope that I can work with you as your guide in discovering your own happiness and meeting your full potential. Our therapeutic relationship will be both collaborative and holistic. I do not have a “one approach fits all” philosophy of psychotherapy. I hope to empower you with the ability to enrich your overall quality of life beyond problem solving to recognize your mind, body, and spirit. Always remember- there is nothing wrong with you and you are perfectly you.
