Not accepting new clients at this time. Life is full of obstacles and challenges. Some are easily navigated but others can be more difficult. It’s ok to ask for help! I will work collaboratively with you to discover tools and strategies that will empower you to reach your goals. In my therapeutic work, I use empathy, psychoeducation, mindfulness techniques, and a combinations of evidence based approaches I have experience working with adults, in inpatient and outpatient settings, that struggled with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-esteem, or relationship issues. I use a person centered approach built on the foundation of unconditional positive regard for each person. There is hope. Change is possible! Please reach out with any questions or to schedule a free 15 minute consultation.

The truth is life can definitely be challenging at times and sometimes you just need a little extra help to figure out what to do next. Whether you are experiencing current or past trauma, going through a stressful life event, experiencing anxiety or depression or if you just need someone to listen and help challenge you to grow as a person, I offer a genuine place to be heard and work together. I offer guidance to learn, process and grow into the best version of you. I often utilized CBT as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which has been proven to work for PTSD, trauma, Anxiety, Depression, grief, etc. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), offering both individual and family counseling. I have worked in the mental health field for the last 10 years. I enjoy working with all ages, utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy, EMDR and enjoy utilizing goal and solution focused therapies. I use play/art therapy techniques for littles and I'm an ADHD-CCSP. My goal is to help guide positive, lasting change by teaching new skills. I want to help individuals and families challenge their perspectives and learn to grow. I hope to help others identify their core negative beliefs that are negatively playing out again and again throughout the life cycle. My passion is to empower others to reach their goals.

I have been licensed as a Professional Counselor, State of Oklahoma, (LPC) for the past 17 years. I own the outpatient counseling office Center for Positive Change, Inc. in Yukon. We are CARF accredited, accept most major insurance as well as Sooner Care. I particularly enjoy working with women and their unique issues and concerns. I also have worked with children and families involved in special family situations, i.e., grief, divorce and DHS. My agency employs a variety of licensed therapists to meet the diverse needs of this community. I specialize in serving women, children and families in Canadian County. CPC also has an office in Weatherford to serve the needs of western Oklahoma. I believe that all women need to feel good about themselves and be all they can be. Some times all it takes is someone believing in them.

Grief and loss presents itself in a basket of multifactorial components. Grief tugs at our hearts and minds through a significant loss or conflict. I have a strong passion for helping people who are struggling with grief from the death of a loved one, trauma, relationship issues, blended families, career issues, chronic illness, or life’s trials and tribulations. Believe it or not, we can even have grief from lack of boundaries and people pleasing. In a world where we tend to avoid grief and loss in hope it will simply disappear, we may find it creeping back in. This can be intentional or unintentional. I often hear “I feel stuck”. Compassion and integrity are at the core of my practice. My goal is to foster hope. My view is that of being supportive and collaborative, using ethical and evidence-based approaches to meet your need. I will use my skills as a psychotherapist to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment. I will join you on your journey toward peace, resolution, and coping. No matter how busy or challenging life may be, we are all deserving of the opportunity for self-care and healing. A strong therapeutic alliance is vital to a successful outcome. Therefore, an appropriate therapeutic fit is important. My experience is strong, as grief and loss are my niche. It is my privilege to provide you with support and guidance.
