I believe that human nature in its many forms is always evolving and if we are able to harness and lean into this change and learn to grow in healthy ways we can become our best selves. I seek to build a positive therapeutic relationship with all my clients to better comprehend the problems that they may be dealing with in their lives and attempt to assist them in finding healthy resolutions. I use an eclectic approach so that I can meet each client where they are on their own personal path of life. I lean heavily on CBT for its distinction between behaviors and thoughts and the narrative theory for its explanation of how we use stories to interpret our lives. I believe the counselor should encourage the growth of their clients, while providing a safe and confidential space for them to explore the unhealthy thinking and irrational beliefs that can underpin their issues. I also specialize in Polyamorous, Open, Ethical Non-Monogamy identified clients and those interested in exploring this new relationship style.

“We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.” Brenée Brown We are resilient human beings who go through life trying not to be too banged up, and sometimes we get broken. There is a Japanese art form that I love called Kintsugi, where one fixes the broken pot with gold or silver to highlight where it was once broken and thus rendering it beautiful again. Trauma and addiction make us feel like we are broken inside, I work with you to apply your gold or silver highlights. Using both person centered and mindfulness based therapies, I work with you on the changes you want to see, or the healing you want to happen. I believe hearing other individual’s story is a privilege and should be treated as such. I do not believe anyone wakes up in the morning and decides they are going to be addicted to any substance or behavior, and yet we can find ourselves using those things to cope with our emotions. I want to help you find better ways to cope and go back to living your best life.

I exclusively work with youth and adolescents who have engaged in sexually inappropriate or sexually harming behavior. I provide specialized treatment and wrap-around support at a time when a child’s behavior is more manageable than when they cross-over into the juvenile system. Research into adverse childhood experiences shows that without timely, appropriate treatment, youth may become further traumatized and may respond in ways that create additional victims – with impacts that ripple out into the community. I work to provide treatment at a time when it can have the most beneficial impact. I use a curriculum and methods based on each individual’s needs and developmental level. Treatment includes individual and family approaches, focusing on respect and hope for change. I strive to achieve accountability for harming behaviors, victim advocacy, as well as positive youth development and the strengthening of families. Often families aren't sure how to help encourage safety while holding youth accountable as shame, guilt, and embarrassment often discourage intervention. I encourage you to reach out, even if you have questions or are considering how to support your child. You and your child are not alone.
