On the outside, it looks as though you’re holding it all together. You have a good job, group of friends, and house to come home to. But on the inside you feel like you're failing, you’re using every ounce of energy trying to keep up appearances and you lay in bed at night wide awake with worry telling yourself you can't take another day like today. Nobody modeled or taught you how to make sense of and manage your emotions so they feel confusing and overwhelming when they occur. You've tried everything you can think of to help yourself through this, but you still feel like something's off and could use some extra support. View 3 Photos Feeling helpless, anxious, and lonely are normal responses to navigating uncharted waters. With me, you don’t have to be picture perfect and hold it all together. We can laugh, cry, dive into your fears, lean into the hard emotions, dispel the anxiety, and tap into the inner peace you’ve been longing for. I am an expert cheerleader, accountability partner, and heart holder. Therapy with me is more than "just listening" and isn't about giving you unwanted advice. I seek to establish an authentic and deep connection built on trust, safety, and compassion. I feel honored to support you during this tumultuous time and look forward to meeting you!

Whether you are seeking ways to strengthen your relationship to self or others, or experience growth in your development and well-being, I am here to help you navigate these issues and more. I specialize in adolescent and adult therapy with an emphasis on anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship and identity concerns. I have worked in school-based settings, child welfare, foster and adoptive care, residential care, and private practice. I work primarily with individuals, but also enjoy working with couples whether it be premarital or marital counseling. My primary theoretical orientation is Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), emphasizing the importance of early attachment processes on individual development. EFT is a client-centered approach that can be utilized with individuals, couples, families, and emphasizes utilization of experiential therapy, systemic therapy, and attachment theory. I am a warm, genuine, and compassionate person, and I strive to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to share and work through whatever brings you into therapy. I also believe that you are the expert in your own life and honor and respect your ability to make whatever changes you are seeking in your life. You are not alone, reach out today!

I provide therapy and parenting support to children and families experiencing adoption, trauma and attachment needs. Each child who comes to see me is struggling with an aspect of their life story. I believe all children have the capacity to heal. My goal is to utilize compassion and kindness to help your child notice their own strengths. By highlighting these children are encouraged to then share their story with their caregivers. Subsequently I help caregivers build their capacity to bear this story. Through this process of sharing and bearing a lifelong supportive connection is built between the caregivers and child. View 4 Photos From a foundation of compassion, kindness and respect, I build the therapeutic experience to include a variety of therapeutic modalities including Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Therapeutic Life Story Work, Narrative Therapy, and Attachment Therapy. I utilize many non-directive methods such as Sand Play, Play and art to help your child engage in therapy. I believe we are all impacted by the brokenness, abuses and injustices around us. Seeking treatment is not evidence of a child or caregivers lack of skill. Rather it is the acknowledgement that teamwork and collaboration builds healing connections, empathy and resiliency. I would be honored to be a part of your team. Please reach out if you would like that.

Yearning to feel understood? I believe that healing begins when we are validated and fully seen without judgment. I work with my clients to embrace their authentic selves and strive toward their full potential. Our work together may look like recognizing and challenging harmful internalized messages or thought patterns, accessing language to communicate needs better, exploring gender/sexuality, examining relationship dynamics that cause stress, getting anxiety and/or depression under control, treating trauma, differential diagnosis, or bringing clients in a couple closer to one another. View 4 Photos I offer a therapy experience that feels human, not clinical, and is grounded in compassion and hope. I particularly enjoy working with gender-diverse youth, introverts/highly sensitive people, and those needing to process trauma. I individualize my approach based on each client(s) past and present experiences as well as ideal outcomes. My therapeutic style is collaborative, curious, and also direct. If you believe that I would be a good fit for you or someone you care about, please don't hesitate to reach out via email or by phone, I offer free 15 minute phone consultations. I look forward to hearing from you!

Are you confused? Exhausted? Scared? I can help. I have a unique understanding of unhealthy relationships and how they operate. Most relationships start out hopeful and happy. Many turn at some point and this is where confusion lives. My philosophy is simple...break down where it went wrong and rebuild from there. This takes a lot of work, and a lot of commitment, I won't sugar-coat...but it can be done. Or, perhaps you have issues with non-intimate relationships, maybe a parent, sibling, or child. Or maybe your child has conflicts with your ex. This too can be made healthier. Narcissism. To me, this word is very personal and profound. If you are in a relationship with someone with these tendency, or you at least wonder if, it's important you seek help from someone who understands the subtleties of these behaviors. Otherwise, you run the risk of re-traumatization. I have a unique insight into this type of dynamic and can help. I've lived through many of the things that I now assist others with in their lives. I have insight into many behaviors and belief systems. I understand personally: abuse, narcissism, problematic marriage, hostile divorce, raising children in this dynamic, religious abuse and addiction. I offer Telehealth sessions for convenience.

Art therapy can be especially beneficial for treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and eating disorders. What clients experiencing these symptoms might have in common is a tendency to avoid or suppress emotional pain, disconnecting from bodily sensations, and a desire for over-control. Art offers a voice to the complexity of our emotional experiences, extending beyond what words alone can capture. Through the creative art process, clients can improve confidence/self-esteem, communication skills, flexibility, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, strengthen the mind-body connection, and so much more. View 3 Photos As an art therapist I help clients use both the art-making process and the art product to gain self-awareness and increase insight. I call this "visual language." I help clients learn how to externalize their inner thoughts and feelings, so they can be recognized, understood, processed, and then reintegrated for lasting behavioral change. No previous art training/experience or artistic ability is required to benefit from art therapy treatment. Art therapy can be more interactive and engaging than traditional talk therapy alone. If you've tried talk therapy before and found that it just didn't work for you, art therapy may be a good fit.

Life is full of transitions. Sometimes you choose the transition; often the transition is thrust upon you. However they happen, transitions can be disorienting and disruptive. Even good transitions can be difficult to navigate. They challenge you emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, and relationally. Yet, transitions also offer an opportunity to challenge old habits and start new ones. They provide fertile ground for growth, to become more fully who you were created to be. Maybe you're in a transition right now - or considering one - and you're looking for a skilled guide and an accepting environment to work it through. When I meet with you, my goal is to know you and help you know yourself. When we're done working together, I want for you to feel empowered to live fully as yourself in your present relationships and circumstances. I also want you to be able to understand and articulate your hopes and dreams so you can confidently pursue them. If you’re hurting and are looking for a safe space to work toward your best self, you've found the right person! Get in touch with me by calling or emailing me now – I would love to get connected and start working with you.

Individual adults (18+) who are committed to self exploration, challenging past patterns, and growth tend to enjoy my approach. My practice focuses on adults with symptoms of depression and/or anxiety that may stem from: lack of identity development (who am I?); adjusting to life changes–such as, going to college, career challenges, coming out, partnering/divorce, death of a loved one, mid-life crisis, retirement, empty nest; relationship conflicts–work or personal; past trauma; poor attachment to childhood caregivers; or having a marginalized identity (such as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, women, immigrants). Client-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions I use most are: Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Solution-focused Therapy (SFT); Internal Family Systems; Grief/Loss Counseling; Expressive Arts; Identity Development; Empowerment; Psychoeducation; Empathetic Listening; Mindfulness & Distress Tolerance In our work together, I will use humility, humor, and curiosity with my experiences as a gender-queer feminist, trauma survivor, and social justice and diversity advocate. I am not religious, but find my spirit is lifted by being present in nature and by playing music, eating good food, moving my body, gardening, painting, and spending time with loved ones.
