In my work with adolescents, young adults, and adults, I assist them in understanding their feelings and behaviors in everyday life. I help them learn how to deal with their anxiety, family conflict, self-esteem issues, ADHD symptoms, and depression. I teach them tools to use in difficult situations in school, at home, and socially. Sometimes, clients experience depersonalization, where they are shut down from their emotions, which can result in feeling numb or a lack of motivation, so I will work with the client to help them "feel" again, and I teach them techniques and skills to manage daily stress or triggers. Furthermore, I address feelings and experiences surrounding racial identity, ancestral or racial trauma, feelings of isolation, social justice, issues related to acculturation, and generational trauma. We work together to uncover the influences of systemic issues and social pressures that teens and adults might face daily. You are already in your first step in working on your healing process, which can sometimes feel scary. I encourage you to allow yourself to have a space to be and for someone else to carry the tough feelings or experiences. You are not alone in this. Let's work together each step of your journey towards empowerment and healing.

I believe that we all have an instinct toward growth and healing, and my experience with clients continues to affirm that with good support, everyone has the innate capacity to change. I trust and respect clients by bringing my genuine curiosity, deep sense of acceptance, and keen intuition to what they share with me. Troubling events and traumas happen to all of us, but as we explore old beliefs and process through difficult emotions, it is possible to alter those ingrained habits that prevent growth, and move into a more free experience of yourself. I have an open, relaxed, interactive style based on a holistic perspective. Studies have shown that the most important component of successful therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. Through ongoing exploration of my own issues, I've developed a self-honesty that gives me a humble perspective, and helps me to see some of the unconscious nuances in the struggles of others. I find great satisfaction in working with families, couples, and individuals, using elements of various therapy models such as Gestalt, Jung, EMDR and IFS. If these aren’t familiar to you—no worries! The important thing is your sense of safety and connection.

After a successful career in the business world, I took the skills of social connection and project management and returned to school for my Master's to integrate my life's experiences with a behavioral health education. I have gained clinical experience working with adults, couples and teens from diverse backgrounds in various settings. My practice philosophy is to walk alongside my clients in a relaxed setting and go through this journey of self-discovery together. You can change what's possible. I have treated individuals, couples and families to help improve their communication methods. I have received formal training in Mindfulness, CBT therapy, DBT, Gottman Couples training, Imago relationship therapy and use a combo of these techniques to help my clients understand their struggles and explore new ways to challenge them. I believe everyone deserves validation and support in a safe, non-judgmental space. The opposite of anxiety is resilience. It is defined as "the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties". I can help you normalize the feelings of fear and uncertainty in an uncertain world with honesty and clarity that builds on your inherent strengths.

I enjoy empowering the individuals that I work with to help them make a decision in the direction they would like to see their lives go. Through several Cognitive Behavior Techniques, we are able to discover faulty cognitive patterns that may or may not have led to automatic negative thoughts (ANTS). As we discover those faulty cognitive thinking patterns, we are able to help individuals reframe negative thought patterns to help relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, and raise self-esteem. I am also trained in EMDR. Sometimes painful memories get locked in our brains. EMDR helps process those memories, where the brain does it all. View 5 Photos I also offer Christian Counseling based upon Biblical Principals to help guide sessions. I specialize in individuals with addictions, depression, PTSD, anxiety, grief and loss, and trauma. I offer telehealth counseling as well. I am licensed to practice in PA, NJ, TN, TX, NM, NV, and DC. If depression, addictions, grief and loss, trauma, or any other issue that is affecting your life, please reach out to me and we can set up an appointment to help rebuild and strengthen your life.

I believe that the relationship and trust built in therapy are the most important and necessary agents for meaningful, lasting change, and that compassionate care is essential to your feeling validated and empowered throughout the process. Without these connections, even the most qualified and well-intentioned therapist may fail in attempting to help. As such, I devote much time and energy in my sessions towards developing and enhancing therapeutic relationships, making sure to always listen carefully and empathically, so as to fully understand the sensitive issues discussed from your perspective and at your pace. I have over two decades of experience providing individual, family, and couples therapy to people of all ages and diagnoses. My areas of specialty include adult/adolescent Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Addiction (All Types), Anger Management, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition to my work with adults and adolescents, I work well with families whose children struggle with behavioral and emotional problems, including diagnoses of A.D.H.D., O.D.D., and Autism. I am trained in various Evidenced-Based Practices - such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - that have been proven to help individuals feel better soon.

As a Harvard trained psychologist, I work to use my education, experience, and passion for my profession to create a comfortable, caring enviroment for every individual I see. My initial focus is on understanding the unique ways in which each person thinks and feels about themselves and their life experiences. I then work with individuals to discover and change aspects of their thinking that have become ineffective; thoughts that lead to debilitating negative emotions or destructive behaviors. In every session I work to foster the open dialog and mutual respect needed to ensure a productive therapeutic relationship. In addition to engaging in psychotherapy with individuals, couples and families, a significant component of my clinical expertise is in the assessment and treatment of child and adult ADHD, Autism Spectrum Conditions and Mood Disorders, as well as learning and behavioral issues in children. In order to expand the treatment options offered by my practice, I am happy to announce the addition of QEEG and Neurofeedback services in my office. These tools offer drug-free interventions for issues such as ADHD, depression, anxiety and learning disorders. For further information, please see: www.dspbrainmaps.com.

Welcome to my site. I have been working with adolescents and young adults for over 16 years. I work with teens, young adults and adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, disorder eating, OCD, phobias, ODD, suicidal ideation, ADHD, relationship issues, addiction issues, or family conflict. My therapeutic relationship with my clients is not formal therapist in a suit taking notes but more personal and informal. At times, kids have a hard time being drawn out, they aren't sure how to put their feelings into words, I am very good at helping them become comfortable expressing what's happening in their inner world. I work with clients using DBT skills, CBT exercises and talk therapy. I am open to collaborating with parents, with the client's consent, if that is deemed helpful by the teen or young adult client. Or it may be helpful for parents to see someone on our Parent Support Team in our practice. My style is active and engaging. We get to work each session to uncover what is happening for your adolescent or young adult and get to the heart of what's really going on to cause the mental health issues they are struggling with.
