My goal in helping people is simple-To address the struggle or help you solve the problem that you present. This can take so many different shapes; mood, relationship difficulties, motivation problems, the need for referral for medication and much more. I try to personalize my attention to each individual. I am dually licensed. I hold a mental health counselor's license as well as a license in alcohol and drug abuse counseling. Over the years, in my work with couples this combination has proven very helpful when there is a question of addiction contributing to or causing relational difficulties. In addition to mental health and drug and alcohol counseling I teach yoga here at my office for the past 30 years and have also been a neurofeedback practitioner for almost 12 years. Have you experienced the death of one or more beloveds in the past 5 years? Maybe you have experienced a feeling of being stuck, as if you want to move forward but something is holding you back. Have you reached a point in your life where the old patterns and remedies no longer serve you? Are you challenged to find peace internally as well as externally? Sometimes all we need is a listening ear. And sometimes it can be helpful to find techniques for deeper exploration of our losses, whatever they may be. I offer a safe and sacred space for speaking thoughts and feelings. In addition to dialogue, I have found that various types of drums are effective channels for grounding our grief and other emotions. We might explore journaling and sitting meditation for internal reflection and processing, and the labyrinth for moving meditation. Grief affects all of us at one time or another and can be relentless if we try to ignore it. Grief speaks the language of the heart, not the head, and is not something we can rationalize away. Often, our search for reconciliation with our losses leads us to a deeper connection with our spiritual selves.

With a master's degree in clinical psychology, I have been providing clinical and leadership services since 2010 in multiple treatment settings. You will receive a quicker response if you send an email rather than leaving a voicemail. I provide counseling for individuals and couples. We will focus on problem-solving through improved communication and conflict resolution as well as goal setting through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness skills and traditional talk therapy. I will tailor your treatment to your specific needs. I look forward to hearing from you! I work with people ages 12 and up, with a variety of presenting issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, sexuality and gender, trauma, difficulty with social skills, and life transitions. In therapy, you can expect an open mind, feedback and a plan to help you move forward through the issues you are struggling with. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and implement mindfulness-based practices into sessions. Self-care is one of the most overlooked things in today's society and I am a strong proponent of incorporating that into your treatment plan. I am an advocate for moving your body every day.
