After twenty years of working in technology, I left corporate life to become a licensed mental health counselor. My calling is to learn, embrace and teach Mindfulness, Acceptance and Compassion. It is my my mission to help clients be present with their thoughts without being at their mercy, and to help them connect and value themselves as a human "being", and not a human "doing". I am inspired to teach people how to treat themselves like a kind and loving friend and see that the critical judge in their head does not tell the truth and does not have their best interest at heart. My method is grounded in empathy and specified to your unique needs, preferences, and situations. My style is compassionate, collaborative, active and engaging. I infuse Mindful Self-Compassion and Positive Psychology into the work I do because when we trust ourselves to uncover strengths, we see they are the path to healing. In addition to being a therapist and coach, I am a funny, compassionate, positive energy source – A wife, friend, sister, daughter, yogi and parent to my rescue hound named Gouda.

Transitions to new roles, the loss of old ones or the stress of current roles can sometimes bring challenges, mixed emotions, difficult thoughts, and new behaviors that may surprise us. It can be hard to find stability in an ever-changing path and at times can impact our daily life and relationships. Transitions in identity to new parenting roles, new jobs, or job stress, moving away from family, or starting a new educational path can all present challenges we may not have expected. I use evidenced based therapy to help you meet your goals using values-based approaches and work towards improving your relationships in your life. My specialty areas are in women's mental health, trauma recovery, anxiety, and depression.

Through 20+ years of experience, I have discovered my passion for working with clients to heal the wounds of abuse or other traumas, work through family-of-origin and attachment issues, liberate from the confines of anxiety/panic/phobias/OCD, repair relational issues, develop effective boundary-drawing, transform self-concept/esteem, and grow to find peace, joy, and purpose. Drawing on a strengths-based approach, I help clients identify and more fully develop the strengths and skills they already have. From that foundation, I utilize various evidence-based therapy modalities, techniques, and interventions to help clients heal, find wellness, and flourish. I offer a compassionate understanding of who you are, how you show up in the world, and how you experience things. I am nurturing while also able to challenge long-held beliefs and patterns, which may be keeping you stuck or holding you back from the life you want to live.
