Aloha. Thank you for your interest in my practice. I am currently full and not available to accept new clients until after January 2022. Children are our most important resource. Play is language for children and important work. Play therapy helps your child leap forward in development, learn to follow directions, and resolve worries. Whether you are a single parent or a couple struggling to parent effectively together, play therapy can help reveal your child's thoughts and emotions. This opens the door for you to understand and respond in a way that helps your child feel more secure and develop age-appropriate skills. I have assisted many families through difficult times. I may be able to help your family, too.

I'm taking video clients for Thursday only. Do you feel stuck, anxious and depressed and wonder what is wrong with you? Personal crisis, work burnout, the loss of a loved one, and stressful situations like those of 2020 make life even harder. Just deciding to change, talking yourself through it or “pulling yourself up by the boot straps” doesn't always work. Sometimes your pain is deep and rooted in the past. Maybe it’s not clear to you and held in your subconscious. That is often a normal outcome when we don’t get the support we need in our time of struggle. I get it. I’m here for you. By using EMDR, Hypnosis, Mindfulness, CBT, and some DBT I strive to get you back on track quickly. I provide a very caring, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach. You have to feel safe to work through and heal from trauma, grief and the sometimes limiting feelings and beliefs that pain can leave behind. I work with people ages 12 through adulthood who have depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, trauma (both emotional trauma and experiential trauma), acute grief, life transitions, and those who are motivated for change but feel stuck. I work Wed-Fri from 11-6:30 and can see telehealth people Thurs. Please e-mail or text to see availability

Welcome to my profile! I am honored to take this moment to share a bit about my counseling approach and philosophy of helping. I believe that individuals have within themselves the power and tools to improve the quality of their lives. I am passionate about providing a welcoming place to assist individuals in becoming more aware of what they want and need, the choices they have in life, and their own potential to heal. I view counseling as a collaborative process of building on the strengths and assets of clients and promote these to maximize life satisfaction and healthy living. My work is guided by the values of compassion, collaboration, acceptance, and client autonomy. I focus on guiding clients to live their best lives and acknowledge their own ideas for behavior change. If counseling is successful, you should feel stronger in your ability to face life's challenges and uncover personal strengths. I utilize many techniques in counseling, primarily designed to increase awareness, provide encouragement, challenge faulty cognitive patterns, and clarify and explore goals of behavior. Are you struggling to show up in the present? Do you ever feel 'haunted' by past experiences that foreclose your way toward the future you want? I have met such roadblocks myself and believe that building a healthy interpersonal relationship in therapy paves the road to unlocking your goals & desires. I have specialties working with queer women & femmes in addressing anxiety, t/Trauma processing & recovery, sexual assault, and identity exploration. Gestalt therapy is oriented around building awareness: of ourselves, of our thoughts & behaviors, of our choices, and of our physical systems that are constantly sending us invaluable data about our experiences. I believe that for each of us to increase this awareness brings us more fully into the present, and only in the present do we have agency to change. Therapy is a dialogue. Together we can build the skills & practices you need to take authority over your life, including increased confidence & self-esteem, maintaining healthy interpersonal boundaries, and building new neural pathways that concretize the change you want to see & be. My clients realize that their experience(s) of trauma are impacting their lives in negative ways; Trauma shows up differently for different people, for example through struggles with their intimate partner or family, deep feelings of "being wounded", or persistent anxiety and nightmares. Sometimes it shows up in the body through unexplained medical conditions or physical pain. For most trauma survivors, it creates a deep disconnect from being able to live your best life. I am here to support you on your healing journey wherever that takes us; we may travel through to the past and integrate deep feelings of pain or loss, come back to the present moment to process a misunderstanding with your spouse, and look to the future to place the building blocks of your goals and dreams. As a client-led therapist, that specializes in trauma work, I hope to help you feel truly supported and cared about, to provide a space to work through your struggles, and to be a compassionate guide to help you process, heal, and integrate all aspects of who you are and who you are becoming.

I became a therapist because I’ve never found being a Human especially easy, and I’ve had a lot of adverse life experiences. For some people, being happy comes naturally. For others it takes a lot of work to find it. I believe we learn best from those of us who have had to learn to endure, persevere, and even find meaning from pain. I have gained the skills to help adults address trauma (PTSD), relationship difficulties with family or romantic partners, and problematic sexual behaviors. I am interested in helping people make lasting changes to bring true empowerment and life and life transformation. We all have things in life that we need help working through, and sometimes our emotions seem to be steering the ship, and we're simply along for the ride. I provide a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space for you to get the support and guidance you are seeking.

Are you struggling in your relationships? Are you seeking to feel accepted and like you belong? Relationships can feel stressful at times and they often highlight what we need from others. We may not always recognize what we need or know how to communicate it directly, but we are always striving to feel connected with others. When we do not feel heard or understood by someone we care about we often act out in anger or frustration to increase the chances of someone paying attention, and we can often feel guilt or regret for what we have said or done to the people we love. If you feel lonely, anxious, or depressed, you are not alone. View 5 Photos I hope to provide a safe space for you to reflect on your experiences in relationships, emotional reactions, belief systems, and personal values, and recognize how these have motivated your choices that have influenced relationships in the past or present. We will work together to gradually shift automatic patterns into effective and intentional choices. If you struggle in one or more relationships, are curious about what might be contributing to these difficulties, or are simply noticing distressing emotional symptoms, please reach out to me so we can begin to reflect on your goals, what strategies might not be working for you anymore, and develop assertive ways to connect more effectively with others.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology and graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. My therapy approach is taken from an attachment theory and perspective. I believe humans are wired to feel connected and that we all greatly benefit from healthy relationships. Without this connectedness, we may experience loneliness or isolation. I provide a safe, accepting space for individuals, couples, and families using a positive Existential Therapy Model to support self-awareness, meaningful relationships, and values of life. View 5 Photos Together with my clients, I help identify personal strengths, increase self-worth, explore family behavioral patterns and roadblocks to developing healthy relationships. Most important in my therapy practice is to help clients celebrate the freedom of empowerment, healing, and connectedness - all of which I believe leads to personal growth. I have worked with a variety of populations and culturally diverse ethnic groups managing attachment injuries, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, high functioning Autism, codependency, grief, marital/family conflict, infidelity, parenting issues, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, women/men’s issues, and day-to-day stressors.
