Welcome! I enjoy working with children, adults, couples and families. A main focus of my practice is grief counseling. I am certified in thanatology and have a special interest in providing support to individuals and families after traumatic loss. I also have extensive experience working with those who are seeking help for depression and anxiety or who would like to improve their capacity to cope with stress, relationships, and life transitions. I use a variety of research-supported, restorative approaches including narrative, cognitive behavioral, EMDR, and mind/body strategies as well as expressive arts modalities tailored to the interests, needs, and strengths of each client. I work collaboratively with my clients to promote resilience and wellbeing. For couples seeking to enrich or restore their relationship, I draw from two models that are backed by substantial research: The Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Couples find a sense of renewal and hope from these practical, optimistic approaches that provide a pathway to deeper emotional connection.

In life we frequently encounter obstacles between where we are and what we want to achieve. These obstacles can manifest in the form of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, or unresolved trauma. Gaining a better understanding of who we are is an important step in creating a sense of personal fulfillment in all aspects of our lives. I specialize in individual, children, family and couples therapy. I promote positive and humane treatment for everyone to reach their highest level of functioning in response to feelings of frustration, loss, pain, and lack of hope. Through the use of mindfulness, EMDR therapy and cognitive behavioral techniques, We will work to break this cycle. I am EMDR trained and I think holistically and systemically about solutions. My approach is compassionate, genuine, and direct. Change and healing are possible-there is hope. I look forward to meeting you!!!

I work with people who feel overwhelmed--by work, big transitions, relationships, family, life. My approach is gentle, non-judgmental, and deep. I enjoy helping clients become more fully aware of themselves and of the patterns that hold them back in life, and working with them to feel more grounded and connected with themselves and with others. Many of my clients are people who are in helping professions or caretaking roles. Many are women or non-binary individuals, and are longing to feel more at home in their own skin and more confident in their own strength, beauty, and wisdom. View 7 Photos I want to support you in being the wonderful human you are in a way that is sustainable and nourishing, and that brings you joy! My work is rooted in the Hakomi Method (a somatic therapy), Expressive arts, and ecotherapy. In therapy, we'll use these as tools to help you feel more embodied, and to empower you to feel greater clarity and freedom in life. The fact that you are here looking for support is both courageous and wise! Life can be challenging, but you don't have to go it alone. If it seems like I might be a good fit for you, I would love to chat with you for a 15-20 minute phone consultation. I provide in-person sessions in Asheville, NC and online sessions throughout North Carolina.

My name is Maggie Hutchins. I currently hold both a LPC and a certificate in K-12 School Counseling in NJ. I have worked in the counseling/helping field since 2006. My career has taken me along different paths but, this time, I have created one for myself with Roots to Grow Behavioral Health and Wellness It is important to me to have a space that allows me to be creative in my therapeutic practice. I utilize different modalities to accommodate each of my client's individual needs. No one person is the same, so no one theory or intervention is right for everyone. My practice is very client centered. My goal is always to meet you where you are and help you create goals for yourself, your child, or your family. I look forward to having the opportunity to help you, or your child, reach your goals, develop essential skills and move on through all of life's ups and downs. No matter your age, or where you are in life, there is always an opportunity to grow

I'm a Somatic Psychotherapist for people who want more nourishing relationships. I help unwind trauma and reweave the patterns that limit. I offer a gentle, collaborative approach to heal the deep hurts that hold you back. Everyone has adapted to our life circumstances as best we can. The patterns we learn are rooted in our early relationships and in our body. These patterns precede words and thought. Together, I help you attune to, unwind, and reweave these patterns. In each session, I offer simple and effective practices to support your growth. My goal is to help you cultivate more resilience, ease, and wholeness in your life. I offer an embodied and relational healing process for people seeking more nourishing relationships. Most of our relationship patterns develop as adaptations to early attachment dynamics and trauma. As a body-oriented and attachment-based therapist, I help people change and transform from the inside out. It's change you can feel and change that lasts. I offer a free introductory session to help you learn if my approach is right for you.

Activism is a huge part of what I bring in my therapy work with clients. In trauma and healing work, I bring my direct experiences of anti-oppression, feminist, and social justice frameworks to clients. I understand that I am not excused from doing work to dismantle systems of oppression, due to the privileges from my intersectional identities as a college-educated, cisgendered, Filipina woman of color. Trauma and healing work require an alignment and connection to one’s body, mind, spiritual values and practices, and I see this as an extension of my involvement in activism, anti-oppression, and social justice work. Michelle utilizes an array of approaches with clients including and not limited to clinical case management, dance/body movement, spiritual work, with a dash of artistic creativity. Her approach draws upon her lived experience as a queer, non-monogamous, first generation Filipina American. Recently licensed in Oregon state and can see clients via telehealth and cash pay starting as low as $80. Full session fee is $175
