If you are dealing with mental health such as anxiety or depression, PTSD/Trauma, or even a behavioral issue with your child and you would like help in forging forward. You don't have to struggle on your own. Feeling like you have to deal with these difficulties alone is a misconception. If your goal is to find understanding of what is going on with yourself or your child and find balance and acceptance through learning and practice of new skills or being able to proccess through the issues I can help you through. My grandma taught me that F.A.I.L doesn't mean failure. F.A.I.L just means First Attempt In Learning. I speacialize in taking a value based approach. With this in most cases we work together to find your values and what will lead you on the path to those values. With trauma it is different and I understand that it takes time to proccess and work through it. At the end of the day, my therapeutic approach is geared to meet your specific needs. I am fluent in ACT, CBT, and person centered. Please contact me to see if I am the right fit for you to assist in your journey to the next chapter of your life. If not I can hopefully point you in the right direction of what you are needing.

I weave together elements of positive psychology, strength-based counseling, Buddhist psychology, and yoga therapy (when appropriate) to help people deepen their awareness of how they want to grow or heal. For some that may be gaining clarity and taking action for growth or healing. For others it may be navigating a new phase of life, either one they initiated or not. And for some, it may be finding inner guidance and practicing strategies to manage a difficult situation. These are just a few examples of individuals who have found working with me supportive. For more details visit: www.abeautifuljourneycoaching.com I meet each person where they are and help them gain clarity about how counseling or coaching can support them and identify what they want to move toward. I do not work within a clinical or medical model framework. Each person is capable of the growth or healing they desire. I help them discover how to do that. I do not use diagnoses in my practice. I do not work from a clinical/medical model and therefore do not accept insurance. I have a tiered fee scale of $70, $90, and $110/hour with a limited number of spaces at $40/hour for individuals experiencing a significant financial challenge. Contact me for a free consultation (30 minutes) so we can explore the possibility of working together.

Today was the worst day of your life. You feel like you want to blow things up and then to put the icing on the cake your belt loop hooked on the door handle and ripped your favorite pair of jeans. You're fed up and don’t have the best set of coping skills. You turn to substances or impulsive behavior. You’re sick and tired of feeling like you don’t have a safe place to be yourself and work through your crap. I see you and I have been there too. It’s scary to think about what life could look like once you find a new way to process the things you’re dealing with in a healthy and safe way. "There's no shame in being afraid. Hell, we're all afraid. What you gotta do is figure out what you're afraid of because when you put a face on it, you can beat it. Better yet, you can use it.” I am a recent graduate from Bellevue University. I have worked in psychiatric mental institutions for children, and in rehabs where I have gained four years of experience with many different types of teens and young adults with various mental health and substance abuse challenges. I provide in-person and teletherapy services. I offer outdoor based therapy interventions where we will often meet at public park settings. I have found that Ecotherapy can be a successful technique for individuals who struggle with life transitions, self esteem, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The activities can vary depending on the season and person. Some examples are: forest bathing, fishing, folfing, snowshoeing, forest foraging, swimming, rafting, skiing etc. Ecotherapy is an alternative approach which may be useful to you if you struggled with traditional in-office therapies. Ecotherapy is an alternative approach that combines the inherit benefits of being in nature with psychotherapy. Nature has been proven to benefit our physical and mental health in a variety of ways and I wish to capitalize that benefit to help you with your personal struggles. Mental health struggles are often complex and deeply entrenched in our lives. They can take time to understand and work through. Sometimes we need an alternative type of therapy to work through these struggles. I aim to provide that service to you if you are seeking therapy for the first time or have worked with other therapists.

Hello! I want to help you get back to living your life as soon as possible. You'll find me to be passionate about providing a safe, confidential, supportive, and collaborative environment for you. My approach is influenced by my values of honesty, responsibility, accountability, compassion, and respect. I practice primarily from a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) perspective meaning I focus closely on the interconnectedness of your thoughts/beliefs/values, feelings, and behaviors to help you work toward your goals. I treat a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relationship issues. Also, I have worked in a variety of settings in the mental health field. I am currently participating in PSYPACT which allows me the privilege of practicing virtually in 36 states (and growing). Finding the right "fit" in a therapist is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle. Once we meet, if we determine that we are not a fit, I'd be happy to guide you to someone who can and/or provide you with resources that may better help. I look forward to meeting you.

I work with individuals, couples, and groups that are faced with a variety of challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict and dissatisfaction, infidelity, impulse control, and adjustment issues. I am trained and use ACT principles when working with my clients. ACT is a mindfulness, acceptance, and commitment approach to psychotherapy. Working together, I help clients slow down the thought process so they can thoughtfully respond to difficult thoughts and emotions. This allows you to take value-based behavioral action as opposed to having emotional, automatic reactions. You are the CEO of your treatment. My role is to be the tour guide to the story of your life. We embark on this journey together to better understand your narrative and what may be getting in the way of living a more fulfilling life. In addition to counseling adults and couples, I work with a number of elite amateur and professional athletes. I also have experience working at Intensive Outpatient Programs, facilitating groups and working with individuals struggling with substance abuse.

I specialize in working with adults with eating disorders and disordered eating, and the conditions that often co-occur with eating concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and trauma. I also have an extensive research background in chronic fatigue syndrome (sometimes called myalgic encephalomyelitis or ME/CFS) and have worked on multiple NIH-funded studies; I am aware of the unique challenges faced by individuals living with ME/CFS and other poorly understood, stigmatized health conditions. I provide evidence-based interventions that are tailored to my client’s needs and progress. I have experience working in eating disorder residential/day programs, university counseling centers, and community mental health centers. As a community psychologist, I also have a strong commitment to social justice, to working with those whose identities have been marginalized, and to understanding the impact of cultural/social context on mental health. I believe that establishing a collaborative, safe, and trusting relationship is the foundation of any effective therapy. In therapy, clients will learn new skills and strategies for coping with life’s demands and will gain insight into what contributes to and maintains unfulfilling behavioral, emotional, and relational patterns.

Adoptees are often a silent population due to challenges surrounding the issue of trust. Needs for this population may include difficulties connecting with others, difficulty with self esteem & making decisions to appease others rather than for themselves. Goals are often directly linked to these issues. How do I know? I have both lived experiences as a former foster child & adoptee who then used those experiences to launch me into the field of psychotherapy where I accrued over 20 years of experience. Learning to trust & knowing who we are as adoptees is an important part of the healing work we will do together. I offer individual, family & couples Adoptee Counseling sessions to adoptees & their adoptive families who are ready to begin addressing the needs which often accompany the role of being an adoptee. Acceptance, connection & trust are some of the issues which we can explore together in our online confidential sessions. I understand how challenging it can be for adoptees to reach out to others as a result of trust issues & the ability to acknowledge their own emotional needs. If you're an adoptee or an adoptive family member, are over the age of 16 and ready to begin this important work of self care & self identity, I'm here to walk along side you on your journey.
