Recent Updates From Amber L.
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
It can be scary to be honest with oneself, let alone with others. Yet, most of us still desire to be seen, loved, and accepted. I work with people curious about how their childhood, cultural background(s), identities, and trauma influence how they relate to themselves, family, lovers, friends, and authority figures. My work centers on anti-racism and the lived experiences of folks who are Queer, Transgender, Polyamourous, or Kinky. I enjoy working with people outside of these identities as well. Modalities I utilize are Relationship Analysis, EMDR, Parts Work, Psychodynamic Techniques, and Sex Therapy.
We'll work together to observe how you relate to your emotions and needs–do you acknowledge their existence, express them to others, or sacrifice them altogether? We’ll also notice how this is influenced when you believe your needs will cause conflict. Lastly, we'll discuss how to navigate these situations in a way that aligns with your strengths and values.
For relationship therapy, we will focus on finding authentic solutions for your relationship. I support folks with rekindling intimacy, navigating cultural differences, or coping with hard emotions like jealousy, anger, & disappointment. I also enjoy helping folks with poly+ dynamics— including couples opening their relationship for the first time.
