Recent Updates From Amy Dimun
Last updated | Tuesday March 25, 2025

For over 20 years, I have provided individual, family, couples and group counseling for children, adolescents and adults. My expertise includes adjustment disorders, addiction (including gambling and hoarding), substance abuse (including opioids), anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting issues and relationship concerns. I also work part time as a clinical supervisor in Manhattan supervising students and new clinicians.
My initial consultation is free. This is a good time to discuss what is bringing you into therapy and how we can work best together. My style is warm and approachable. I use humor and constructive criticism when it is useful, as a way to develop and evolve emotionally.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). When working with families, I address systems, executive functioning and relationships while providing solution focused strategies and coping skills. I work with medical, psychiatric and school providers to provide an interdisciplinary approach.
