Recent Updates From Andrea Forlina

Your child isn't talking to you like they used to. They're crying or shouting more. Maybe they're struggling with being mean to or withdrawing from family and friends. Has your child experienced a life disturbing event that seems to have made things more difficult for them? Is what's going on for your child confusing or even scaring you? Certainly it's painful for both you and your child. You're wondering if your child needs therapy, but you don't know if they'll talk to a therapist. You've heard of play therapy and wonder if it works.
In my practice, children between the ages of 3 to 11 are given the space to express themselves resulting in the re-establishment of balance and well-being. I use play therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help children process through to that balance. It's also important to me to partner with parents during this process.
Considering therapy for a child can seem somewhat overwhelming. However, registered play therapists, like myself, understand how to make play a healing, therapeutic experience. Through a phone consultation, we can talk about your concerns and determine if therapy would be beneficial for your child, as well as if I'm the right therapist for them.
