Recent Updates From Ashley Retta
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
My goal as a therapist is to create a supportive, healing and safe space for you discuss and navigate your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I work collaboratively with individuals, couples and families to confront anxiety, trauma, relationship conflict, family dynamics, major life changes and generational trauma. I take a warm, down to earth, person centered approach and am an active participant in the session. I utilize a variety of tools including curiosity, empathy, humor and vulnerability to learn about you, and help create trust in our therapeutic relationship.
Over the course of my career, I've helped individuals/families navigate & process divorce/custody/child support cases. I’ve worked in child welfare, domestic violence, & sexual assault, helping survivors find their voice & reclaim their power. And I've worked with college students on transformative transitions & discovering their own identities.
I focus on your immediate needs & the circumstances bringing you to therapy, today. From there, we work together to unpack the reasons causing your stress. By working backwards, we identify triggers, responses and coping skills acquired. Understanding how trauma impacts us, allows us to be in complete control of our decisions & behaviors moving forward.
