Recent Updates From Cheryl Grant
Last updated | Tuesday October 22, 2024
Over the years working in a variety of settings with many types of people I have found my niche is working with people who have lasting effects from childhood trauma, addictions and compulsive behaviors, and difficulties in relationships. Clients tell me that my ability to stay consistent, calm, and grounded helps them slow down so they can connect to their body - feel their emotions - and experience themselves more whole and alive. Since 2004 I have worked with people with problematic sexual behavior and their loved ones as a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) using trauma therapies and Pat Carnes Task Centered Approach.

I am skilled in three evidence based trauma therapies: EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), Somatic Experiencing and IFS (internal family systems.) These approaches are highly effective when used to treat both symptoms (such as anxiety or depression) and issues that for some can be resistant with traditional talk therapy.
Choosing the right therapist is a process and may take several appointments to determine if you have found the right fit. I recommend having a brief chat on the phone first and if I think I may be able to help you we would schedule a consultation. If I'm not the right fit I have a large stable of solid referrals I'm happy to pass on to you.
