Recent Updates From Daniel J
Last updated | Tuesday October 22, 2024
In my practice, I work successfully with people suffering from depression and anxiety, grappling with life changes and decisions, and struggling in important relationships. My orientation strives to deepen insight and self-knowledge, identify entrenched and sometimes destructive patterns in life, draw on your inner strengths, and move towards greater fulfillment in yourself and your relationships. See my website for much more information about my background, experience, and orientation to therapy. There I also offer suggestions for how to go about finding a good therapist who is both skilled and a fit for you.
I have extensive experience working with people who have experienced trauma in their lives and, when indicated, I facilitate adjunct forms of treatment to work with the ongoing effects of trauma. When medication might be a useful in conjunction with psychotherapy I work closely with a psychiatric colleague as a therapeutic team.
My own research, publications, and college-level teaching informs my sub-specialty in the psychology of religion and culture. When desired I can engage and explore cultural, religious, or spiritual concerns of any orientation within therapy.
