Recent Updates From Dean Malec
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
Hello! I am a licensed psychologist with Center for Evidence Based Treatment - Ohio (CEBTOhio). I work with adults, adolescents and children with a variety of presenting concerns, including eating disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, and difficulties with emotion regulation, including borderline personality disorder, suicidal urges and self-harm. Having done much of my training at university counseling centers, I also enjoy working with young adults on stress management and navigating healthy development.
I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior and Cognitive Behavior therapies. This means that we will work together to understand the relationship between your thoughts, emotions and actions, and develop ways to help resolve your concerns rooted in change and acceptance, along with attention to the role of cultural/systemic factors in well-being.
I believe it is important to use evidence-based practices in my work. I also believe that the therapy relationship is one that must feel safe, trusting and affirming for each person. I value diversity and cultural humility and welcome working with people of all identities and life experiences. Please contact me if you are interested in working together!
