Recent Updates From Deidra O'Loughlin
Last updated | Tuesday October 22, 2024
From the very beginning, with sensitivity and compassion, I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space in which you can express thoughts, feelings, dreams, and desires that you may feel unable to share elsewhere. I believe that constructive change occurs when we work collaboratively to develop insight into your current struggles; only then can we find ways to help you move forward. I have experience and interest in working with adults and older adolescents with anxiety, trauma histories, creative people, and those who wish to explore various aspects of their identities, including people who are LGBTQ+.
I began my therapy career working with underserved populations in New York City which enabled me to see the strength and resilience in people in unfortunate circumstances. I have completed many trainings, including a two-year training in psychodynamic psychotherapy which has helped me become better able to guide clients to deeper levels of understanding.
The symptoms that bring each person to therapy are unique. I have found, however, that therapy has the universal benefit of helping you to see yourself more clearly and coming to accept the person you see.
