Recent Updates From Diane Louise
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
Bereavement, suicide loss, loss of a pet, life transitions, difficulties in relationship to others and to self are some of the reasons people seek counseling. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe place for clients to work through problems, discover their strengths, and find hope for healing and change. It takes courage to reach out and seek support when you recognize that what you are doing on your own doesn't seem to be working. My hope is that you will start your journey to healing.
I work from a systems perspective. Whether the client is an individual, couple, or family, it is important to consider the influence of family of origin as well as the current family configuration. Attachment needs are explored and addressed, as differing needs in relationships can be a source of conflict.
During bereavement, family relationships may become strained due to the unique ways that various family members grieve. In my practice, I provide psychoeducation about the grieving process, and provide support during this tender time.
