Profile

You are worthy, and I am here to help you focus on your wellness and your strengths. I work with a diverse population seeking treatment for mental health (MH) symptoms and disorders, substance abuse and substance use disorders (SUDs), and co-occurring disorders (MH and SUDs). I am well-versed in trauma informed care with exceptional experience treating acute and long term effects of trauma, including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I completed my masters and doctoral coursework at Virginia Commonwealth University, studying and working with survivors of childhood trauma, sexual abuse and assault, and those who struggle with SUDs. In addition to outpatient services, I present learning opportunities to populations who encounter trauma and MH symptoms as a component of their work.
I engage from a person-centered theoretical perspective and believe the therapeutic process is a partnership. Primary use of narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and motivational interviewing will support you in regaining happiness and finding peace within.
