Recent Updates From Garret G
Last updated | Tuesday October 22, 2024

I provide cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) for depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use concerns, insomnia, and related problems in adults. My approach involves flexibly, collaboratively, and creatively applying evidence-based treatment principles to help my clients find relief and meet their goals. I believe that the most effective therapy starts with a thorough understanding of each client's unique circumstances and strengths and grows in the context of a warm and empathetic relationship.
I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2023. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow and registered Psychological Associate (PSB94027393) of Dr. Jacqueline Persons at the Oakland CBT Center (www.oaklandcbt.com), where I am working to complete the requirements to become a licensed psychologist in California.
I have received training in specialized forms of CBT including cognitive processing therapy for PTSD, prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD, cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia, and exposure and response prevention for OCD. I also have experience delivering motivational interviewing for substance use concerns. I look forward to meeting you!
