Recent Updates From Hannah Haslam
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024

When we grow up in dysfunctional families, we often learn skills to deal with difficult situations that were helpful in the past but that no longer serve us, like shutting down or exploding when you're upset, conflict avoidance, having trouble asking for what you want or need, people-pleasing, perfectionism, numbing with phone scrolling or substances each night - the list goes on. My ideal clients are adults who have had challenging life experiences and who are hoping to gain insight into how their pasts are impacting them in the present. I help clients to address harmful behaviors, heal from trauma, and create a beautiful life.
I am warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental in my work with clients. Through a psychodynamic, attachment-based lens, I help clients process and move forward from early experiences of abuse or neglect, instability, or living with parents who had a hard time controlling their emotions or moods. I am trained in EMDR therapy and incorporate this when appropriate
I'm not a therapist who will stare at you silently and nod occasionally; I'll be getting in there with you, talking about anything you need to (I've heard it all!) from work & relationships to sex and strange bodily functions. Some of our work will feel serious, but we'll also laugh a lot. I hope to create a safe space where you can put it all on the table.
