Recent Updates From Amy Mercier
Last updated | Tuesday March 25, 2025

**Availability may be limited** Most people experience challenges in life and painful moments that can seem difficult to understand and get through. However, I believe with the right supports, we are capable and worthy of healing and resiliency. I knew from an early age I was passionate about helping people find ways to recover from adversity and develop a stronger sense of self, meaning, and happiness. I firmly believe feeling comfortable and understood is essential to the outcome of therapy. I take a compassionate yet direct stance, and strive to act as a coach and active partner in helping individuals reach their goals.
As a licensed clinical social worker with extensive training in DBT & CBT, I use a collaborative, skills-focused approach that balances change with acceptance. I teach skills in mindfulness to develop a greater awareness of self, thoughts, & feelings, self-compassion to develop kindness with oneself, and coping skills that help to reduce emotional distress.
I practice solution-focused, behavior modification techniques to bring about change. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship problems/marital work, anger/behavioral issues, substance abuse, low self-esteem, eating disorders, binge eating disorder, infertility/post-partum, self-harm, grief/loss, adjustment disorders, and stress management.
