Recent Updates From Jeff Goldman
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
I work with individual adults and teenagers who are going through a difficult time in their lives. Most often they are experiencing some kind of stressful event, such as difficulty in a relationship or work/school related problems, some form of loss, or simply general dissatisfaction in their lives. Many have some degree of anxiety or depression and find therapy a helpful means of managing these feelings. Over the years I have also worked with many survivors of sexual abuse, people coping with cancer, MS, ALS, and 9/11 first responders and veterans who were coping with trauma, loss and PTSD.
I approach therapy from a psychodynamic perspective and am interested in understanding the entire course of one’s development, including what a person’s significant relationships have been like throughout their lives and what their perspective on life is in general.
I have been a Clinical Psychologist for 20 years and spent most of that time in private practice in New York City. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology and an MA in religion with a focus in Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism, and have had the benefit of training with some of today’s leading psychoanalysts including Lew Aron, PhD and James Grotstein, MD.
