I believe we're all naturally inclined toward growth and success—each with our own strengths, desires, and goals that would lead us in the direction of contentment and happiness under optimal conditions. But we don’t live in a perfect world, and in an effort to adapt, we sometimes develop strategies that make sense in the short term, but aren't, in a lasting way, effective in moving us forward. We get stuck, leading to anxiety, frustration, and conflict, which leads in turn to us feeling bad about ourselves and our relationships.
I view therapy as a collaboration between me and my clients, where we work together to understand the root causes of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that get in the way of being who you want to be and doing what you want to do. We clarify your goals, uncover and capitalize on existing strengths, and develop new ways of working through difficulties.
My style is directive, supportive, honest, and compassionate, and my approach is integrative and flexible. This is your journey. We'll start wherever you are and go from there!
