Whatever brings you to therapy is valid and worthy of exploration. Perhaps you sometimes struggle to feel connected to your emotions or to your body. You're noticing patterns or recurring challenges in relationships that you want to better understand. You feel exhausted from performing aspects of your life and want to tap into your authenticity and explore your identity. You've experienced trauma and want to process it safely. You're impacted by institutionalized racism, sexism, heterosexism, ableism, fatphobia and are seeking empowerment and healing. You crave deeper more satisfying relationships with others and yourself.
Joanna is a Black/mixed-race, neurodivergent, queer therapist with experience working with individuals and groups of all ages. Joanna’s approach is informed by her training in trauma therapy, attachment therapy, EMDR, IFS and psychodynamic psychotherapy. This allows her to be fluid and creative—using a variety of lenses to provide individualized care.
Joanna is dedicated to supporting People of the Global Majority and LGBTQIA+ survivors of institutional and relational trauma, working from an anti-colonial, holistic lens. She loves working with clients to reestablish a sense of internal safety; reconnecting to the body, curiosity, joy and pleasure to heal and allow for deeper relationships and experiences.
