Last updated | Tuesday October 22, 2024
Karen Cooper has extensive training and experience from over twenty-three years successfully working with individuals experiencing substance use, sex and love addiction, trauma, and mood and anxiety disorders. She has worked with expert thought leaders in the field of sex addiction such as Dr Robert Weiss, Phd, and has been trained in Dr Patrick Carnes's Phd task based model of recovery from sex addiction. Karen has also been an active member of the recovery community for many years. She has the experience and expertise to empathize, understand, and skillfully address those issues that interfere with healthy sobriety.
Karen understands that individuals sometimes experience personal and relational difficulties, underlying mental health issues, and past traumas that trigger self-destructive behaviors to cope with distress. Karen also draws upon mindfulness practices, EMDR, cognitive behavioral, 12-step, and the trauma focused task model of recovery to help you heal.
Whether you are new to recovery, or you have been sober for awhile and need some help with sexual compulsivity that is causing damage to you, your mental and emotional health, and your relationships, she has the expertise to support you on your path of recovery. Karen is fully licensed in both WA and AK. She offers telehealth and in person sessions.
