Last updated | Wednesday March 26, 2025

My specialty as a psychotherapist is eating disorder recovery, obesity (including bariatric counseling, pre and post procedure) and body image issues. In addition to practicing as a licensed MFT, I have practiced as a nutritionist for over 20 years. Clients range in age from adolescent/teen to adults. Other areas of treatment in my practice include, but are not limited to, depression and/or anxiety, relationship issues, and self-esteem work. An additional area of specialty is working with adolescent/teens who have been victims of bullying. I am a current clinical/professional member of IAEDP, NEDA, CAMFT and AAMFT.
My treatment approach is comprehensive. I address eating disorders and obesity from both a psychological and physiological perspective (neurotransmitter and hormonal inbalances). Psychotherapeutically, treatment evaluates current coping skills, history of eating disordered behavior, trauma, relationship issues, etc. Treatment involves cognitive behavioral intervention as well as long term psychodynamic work.
In addition to my practice, I participate in public speaking events for both professionals and school programs. I am a published author in the field of nutrition and have been a professional expert for certain media outlets (both radio and television).
