Recent Updates From Cristina Lugo
Last updated | Wednesday March 26, 2025

As we walk through life collecting experiences, relationships, and hardships along the way, we may land in places of struggle and personal suffering. Whether you are trying to keep up with a changing world, facing adversity or social inequality, or still healing wounds from the past, I am ready to join you on this path to find inner growth and transformation.
When we arrive in the therapy room, whether it is virtual or in person, I bring a warm, authentic, and collaborative approach. In my fourteen years of practicing psychotherapy, I have found myself specializing in the teens, 20s, and 30s populations, which is a critical time for navigating career and relational goals while laying the foundation for adult life. I am passionate about supporting growth through depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationships, diverse identities, and really, any of the curve balls life brings us. I am committed to providing culturally-responsive care and have a strong background in working with people of color and those with second generation and multicultural identities. As a Puerto Rican-American with many of my own cultural experiences, my mission is to decolonize therapy in my practice and do my best to reduce systemic harm.
My other passion is to provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) treatment to the community. I have been practicing this treatment for the last four years and have seen what a powerful positive effect it has on symptoms of trauma, anxiety, upsetting events, phobias, and OCD. I also incorporate my other modalities such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which is a mindfulness-informed form of CBT, and expressive arts therapy for an eclectic blend of treatments tailored to meet each individual’s needs.
