Recent Updates From Liz Kelly
Last updated | Thursday March 27, 2025

I am a psychotherapist licensed in Washington, DC, and Virginia. I specialize in working with adults, millennials, students, and adolescents contending with grief and loss, school and job stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I use solution-focused, brief therapy to increase my clients' resiliency and their ability to cope with life's challenges. I help clients find meaning and purpose in their daily lives and assist them in identifying and meeting personal goals. I am a frequent contributor to articles in publications such as Parade, TodayShow.com, Refinery29, Bustle, The Daily Beast, and Teen Vogue.
I holistically assess each client's lifestyle and prior experiences to help clients identify unhelpful patterns of behavior and thinking that are getting in the way of their objectives. I use elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness to assist clients in making positive change.
My strengths-based approach has been described as warm, non-judgmental, and supportive. As someone who formerly worked on Capitol Hill, I have a unique perspective as a therapist to understand the stress and realities facing individuals and families in the Washington, DC area.
