I focus on using evidence based practices to address the issue of addiction, drug use, and underlying conditions. This means I only utilize interventions backed by research. I lean heavily on my personal experiences of going through the treatment system to influence how and what I provide for my clients. I can relate and empathize with my clients and work from a place of understanding, which I hope to be of value, considering the level of stigma and discrimination with issues such as substance use and mental health.
As a person in long-term recovery and a beneficiary of addiction medicine (MOUD), I believe compassion, rapport, and education are the centerpiece to any helping relationship.
