Recent Updates From Melissa M
Last updated | Monday February 17, 2025

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist who helps adults cope with mental health concerns and achieve their personal goals. I use cognitive-behavioral therapies that have been shown to improve emotional health. I specialize in treating anxiety, living with chronic illness, caregiver stress, and depression, as well as, developing coping strategies for more general life complexities and stress. I view therapy as a collaborative process and tailor interventions to the client’s needs. Often I expand my approach to integrate mindfulness and acceptance-based techniques.
I am also trained as a clinical neuropsychologist and integrate this expertise to help clients understand the biology of mental health symptoms and the rationale for specific interventions. It is my goal to empower clients to develop strategies to cope with mental health symptoms and lead a valued life.
I am an Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Medicine, and a Psychologist in the Spinal Cord Injury Service, within VA Boston. My Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology is from Boston University. I am currently taking new clients and welcome calls about starting therapy. I see clients on Saturdays in my Newton Center office.
