Recent Updates From Emily Kennison
Last updated | Tuesday February 18, 2025

Being a human is hard. Each and every one of us, at some point in our lives, finds ourselves lost and stuck. We look at our lives and realize that this is not the life we planned for, that we are not the people we wanted to be. We look at the things we're spending our energy on, and we recognize that we're not moving any closer to to the life we want. My work focuses on helping people settle into those stuck moments, to choose a direction, and to take steps toward the life that they want.
Although I'm open to working with clients with all sorts of difficulties, my specialty is working with folks who struggle to live with peace and purpose in their bodies. This includes those suffering with body image disturbance, eating difficulties, self-harm, medical issues, chronic pain, sexuality, or trauma.
The work I do is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a mindfulness-based approach to helping people actively build lives that are meaningful to them. ACT is not about getting rid of painful thoughts or feelings, it's about learning to life fully even when pain is present.
