Dr. Walters earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from The University of Northern Colorado and a Masters degree from the University of Alabama. During her education Dr. Walters completed a variety of training experiences including working in a drug rehabilitation center, public schools, the University Mental Health Clinic where she provided counseling to families, couples, individuals, and children. Dr. Walters also worked in the Neuropyschology Clinic providing neuropsychological assessment. She completed a dissertation titled Traumatic Brain Injury Self Report: Identifying the Relationship between Personality and Risk Taking Behavior.

Dr. Walters assists her patients by helping them build resilience, optimism and wisdom so that they may be better prepared to face and manage signs of anxiety impulses, depression despair, obsessive compulsive behaviors, learning difficulties, relationship challenges, loss, addiction, transitions, career and school changes as well as trauma and illness.
