A primary focus of my practice is to assist couples overcome problems and issues in their relationship. Problems of communication, conflict, emotional distance and sexual problems are all issues that can be productively addressed in therapy. Many couples begin therapy in crisis following an affair or at the brink of divorce. Others are disappointed in their relationship and know that there is more intimacy and satisfaction to be found with the partner they love. Intensives and extended sessions may be arranged on weekends or evenings in some circumstances.
I am a Level 2 PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) practitioner. I am trained in the Internal Family Systems model of psychotherapy, The Relational Life Therapy of Terry Real, Gottman's approach, and EMDR. I also see individuals with issues of trauma, depression, anxiety, spiritual concerns, retirement and other life stage problems.
The length of sessions for couples work is as recommended by PACT - 2 hours (105 minutes). So sessions will be $300. Longer sessions are without question much more effective than the standard hour. I encourage you to research PACT and get in contact with me for any clarification needed, especially if you find the 2 hour expectation intimidating.
