Recent Updates From Shelley F
Last updated | Tuesday February 18, 2025

I work with toddlers, children, adolescents, and young adults, generally spanning the ages of 3-21. With experience in school districts and in medical and private practice settings, I have had experience working with children with a wide range of issues, including: learning disorders (e.g. dyslexia and non-verbal learning disabilities), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, developmental disabilities (mental retardation), autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders and genetic syndromes, Tourette's syndrome and tic disorders, prematurity and low birth weight outcomes, brain injuries and neurological disorders, anxiety/mood disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, and late effects of cancer treatment.
Neuropsychology is the study of brain/behavior relationships. I evaluate children who have problems affecting learning or behavior to determine changes in memory functioning, attention and concentration, problem solving, and emotional status. These areas are often influenced by medical/psychological conditions, and neuropsychological testing can help with diagnoses and treatment planning.
I am fully trained as both a pediatric neuropsychologist and a school psychologist, with board certification in both specialties. This combination of training provides me with a strong basis to understand and work with individuals in both medical and educational environments.
