Recent Updates From Theresa Maria
Last updated | Monday February 17, 2025

The support of a therapist who is genuine and empathetic can help you freely express your thoughts and emotions. This is what I aim to do in my work with clients - to provide a space where clients can explore their inner landscape and feel seen. After having a better understanding of their feelings and thoughts, I work with clients to improve their ability to communicate them with others and thus, strengthen their relationships. We also work on developing new creative ways to cope with stress, discomfort, grief, and pain. Above all, I strive to help clients approach themselves and others with more curiosity and compassion.
By applying a wide-variety of evidence based therapy approaches and techniques tailored to each individual, I help my clients examine long-standing behavioral patterns and perceptions, experiment with new ways of behaving and thinking, uncover strengths, improve their relationships, build confidence and community, and lead a life worth celebrating.
My education and clinical experience include: Master's Degree from the University of Chicago, Post-Master's Clinical Fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychology, trauma work with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, grief counseling, and intensive out-patient work with adolescents and young adults
