English | हिन्दी My name is Amisha, and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I enjoy helping individuals, couples, and families find joy and meaning in their lives. I utilize evidence-based modalities that bring about change by providing tools clients can use to become their own therapist. My stance is deeply empathic and curious, leaning into what happened to you rather than what is wrong with you. My first session is 90 minutes such that I can really get to know you. I offer true 60-min & 75-min sessions thereafter. Emotional pain hurts just as deeply as physical pain. Your pain matters. You matter. I utilize TEAM-CBT, a structured approach to help clients alleviate symptoms of anxiety or depression. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples build a secure bond by de-escalating conflict and facilitating vulnerable conversations that bring them close. With attachment at its core, I integrate IFS, Authenticity Therapy & Reparentive Therapy. If you would like to feel better and have close relationships (with self & others), I would like to invite you to set up a FREE 25-minute consultation on my website. We experience problems in our life when we feel "stuck." We don't have to survive life. There is a way to cultivate joy and manifest your best life. This is a safe space for immigrants, LGBTQIA.

I provide cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) for depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use concerns, insomnia, and related problems in adults. My approach involves flexibly, collaboratively, and creatively applying evidence-based treatment principles to help my clients find relief and meet their goals. I believe that the most effective therapy starts with a thorough understanding of each client's unique circumstances and strengths and grows in the context of a warm and empathetic relationship. I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2023. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow and registered Psychological Associate (PSB94027393) of Dr. Jacqueline Persons at the Oakland CBT Center (www.oaklandcbt.com), where I am working to complete the requirements to become a licensed psychologist in California. I have received training in specialized forms of CBT including cognitive processing therapy for PTSD, prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD, cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia, and exposure and response prevention for OCD. I also have experience delivering motivational interviewing for substance use concerns. I look forward to meeting you!

My work is with individuals and couples who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get down to the task of making transformative shifts in their lives. Often people come to therapy believing that our history makes us who we are. Using the therapy relationship as a secure base from which to explore, clearing away the clutter and loosening a few knots, we often find that our history has obscured who we really are. In some way, most of us are longing for a sense of well-being that is not wholly dependent on external circumstances. Self-criticism and judgment keep us stuck in our heads, out of touch with our hearts. We become too busy managing anxiety to be able to see what lies beneath. Through new experiences in the context of a healing relationship we can actually change the way our brain is wired! My therapeutic approach is integral, informed by a spiritual perspective. I especially enjoy working with adult adoptees, for whom the longing for true connection can be especially profound. Counseling adopted adults is often multifaceted. Together, we will put your feet back on the path to discovery of your true self. www.janepeal.com

Let's be real. It's exhausting to live in a world that asks us to mask our true identities, needs, and the most unique and beautiful parts of ourselves. We all deserve to have a safe space where we can explore the masks that we wear and the selves beneath them. Having lived experience with neurodivergence, dissociation, polyamory, and being queer and nonbinary myself, I truly understand how valuable it is to have a therapy provider who understands intersectional experiences and can provide a space for non-judgmental authenticity in healing. I use a variety of somatic, relational, and strength-based modalities and incorporate aspects of parts work/IFS and brainspotting (an offshoot of EMDR) for trauma processing in my practice. I also love to customize my approach for each client and find out what works best for your brain. We make a good team! I love working with the LGBTQIA& community and the polyamory/consensual nonmonogamy community. I'm passionate about providing neurodivergent affirming care, including strategies for better managing anxiety and depression, dissociation, sensory needs, autism, and ADHD. I love working with DID/OSDD/plural clients as well and am plural myself.
