Life is messy. As we all navigate it the best we can, a lot of us find survival strategies that make sense at the time but don’t serve us in the long run. If you or your child are having trouble in relationships, feeling consistently down or anxious, or finding yourself stuck in painful past experiences, therapy can help identify patterns that don’t serve you and build practices that enable you to thrive. I am a strengths-based, trauma-informed psychologist with a commitment to social justice and cultural humility. While the heart of my approach is attachment-based and psychodynamic, I regularly incorporate ideas from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based behavioral approaches such as ACT and DBT. I work with children, adults, and families, and specialize in therapy with adolescents and young adults. Reaching out to begin therapy can be daunting. I always start with a complimentary call to begin getting to know each other and seeing if it feels like a fit.

When we are anxious, unsettled, or stuck, and unsure what our next steps should be or whether it is even possible to feel better about our self, our life path, or our relationships, we can feel very alone. You may have tried therapy before, or self-help strategies, and perhaps found some short-term relief, but are wondering if longer-term solutions and genuine life satisfaction are real possibilities for you. You may be finding difficulty holding on to a sense of hope that your life can change for the better, yet there is some glimmer of desire that has led you here, to search for help. There is a part of you that wants to heal. My approach to facilitating healing and increasing your life satisfaction involves getting to know your unique concerns, circumstances, and desires, as fully as possible, with deep respect and care. We will explore what has and hasn't worked for you, where you're feeling blocked or stuck, and what has impacted you externally and systemically. Research shows that a positive working alliance with a therapist you feel you can trust is one of the most helpful and important factors in achieving your desired outcomes. I invite you to reach out to speak with me so that we can find out if we might be a good fit. My hope is for you to feel connected on your path towards growth and healing.
