I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with a strong commitment to providing high-quality individualized mental health care to adults. I offer both individual and group psychotherapy. I enjoy working with a diverse range of people, ages, and issues. I bring specialized training and experience in working with young professionals, people struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse and relationship challenges. If you’d like to learn more about how I’d work with you or have any questions about starting therapy, please email or call me for a free phone consultation. Therapy offers a safe relationship that is rooted in trust and respect. Successful therapy can take different paths. One path may be helping you developing tools to cope more effectively with mental illness. Another path may include learning more about yourself and how you relate to others. I will help you design a treatment plan that best suits your needs. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 17 years of education, training, and clinical experience in the mental health field. I have offices in Pleasanton and Redwood City where I provide therapy to adults living in the Bay Area.

Being a first generation Chinese-American immigrant, I am fluent in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese, and I have passion, experience, and unique cultural understanding in resolving marriage and parenting issues. If you are considering filing for divorce or are wondering whether your marriage was the right choice, it is time to seek help. I will help you reevaluate your marriage, clarify your problems, release you from the constant quarreling wars, and guide you along the path of reconstruction and healing. As a facilitator of the Prepare & Enrich Program, the computerized results from the assessment help my clients see the complete picture of their marriage. EFT and REBT are my favorite utilized therapies to help couples change their communication patterns and regain their intimacy and passion. I am also a facilitator of the Journey-To-Intimacy class and I have served in Christian churches for over 23 years, preaching and counseling people from age 5 to 95.

I provide psychological, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological evaluations to children and adults in English, Cantonese, or Mandarin. Most clients seek evaluations due to inattention (ADHD), mood disorders, anxiety, learning difficulties, social communication differences (ASD), and challenges at work, school, or home. I emphasize the impact of sociocultural factors on the examinee's symptoms, experiences, and functioning. The goals of an evaluation are to clarify the diagnosis and offer recommendations to improve one's functioning. I also offer immigration-related (e.g., N-648) and independent education evaluations (IEEs). I also offer telehealth psychotherapy to private-pay clients and Lyra or Modern Health members. My clinical expertise includes trauma, grief, loss, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I practice EMDR and provide psychological support to individuals with issues related to life transitions, acculturation, relationships, parenting, work stress, and women’s issues. My assessment and therapy approach is relational, collaborative, and strength-based. I focus on building resilience, strengthening internal resources, instilling hope, enhancing confidence, and increasing capacity to manage stressors. I am bicultural and connect well with people of color and immigrants from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
