I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California as well as a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, Canada. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology (M.Ed.) from OISE, University of Toronto, Canada. Clients come to see me for help with anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem, grief, loss, isolation, trauma, family & relationship issues, loneliness, sexual orientation worries, gender identity concerns, LGBT counselling, addiction issues, etc. Services are offered in English, Hindi,Malayalam or Tamil. I work primarily from a client-centered model and my therapeutic approach is eclectic, which means depending on the individual needs of my clients, I incorporate elements and therapy tools from various approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness based psychotherapy, etc. My approach to therapy involves a balance between helping a client explore past experiences and identifying how these experiences may be affecting them currently. I often use culturally sensitive tools in my practice while working closely with my clients. I work from within an anti-oppressive and anti-racist framework.

Is the suffering that you keep circling back around to your soul calling out to you to dig deeper and really heal yourself? Many of us wonder why we suffer so much in our relationships, why we are afraid of love, why we stay in less fulfilling places in life rather than taking the steps to live a more meaningful, larger life. The calling for humanity is coming from our souls. If you can at least be open to this possibility, I invite you into the therapy process of tapping into your soul's wisdom and letting it guide you. My therapeutic process includes soul work (inner child work) and mindfulness. I use techniques inspired by Carl Jung, Pema Chodron, and Sandra Ingerman. By honoring our wounded inner child we are led into our authentic self, which then leads us into living a more meaningful life, love driven, soulful life. My client focus is men, women, couples, adolescents, & therapists. My specialties are: self growth, addiction, alcohol abuse, abandonment fear, commitment fear, depression, trauma, and grief. I incorporate somatic techniques including guided visualizations and breath-work, journaling, and teachings on communicating with yourself and others in a more nurturing, authentic way.

The poet, Mary Oliver, asks: "Tell me, what is it that you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" I am so honored to walk with my clients in a skill-based approach as we explore these kinds of questions and access that deeper wisdom available to us all. The human psyche is such a magnificent entity--your search for an ultimately satisfying life deserves to be witnessed and supported as you move through it! I believe that as you recognize patterns which may be limiting your life and release them, you will find the source of true empowerment as well as our interconnectedness with it. As we enter an era of whole-systems transition and non-binary options, it's essential to glimpse the infinite possibilities in a universe that is orchestrated by complex forces and mysteries. When changing how we participate in relationships or culture, it's helpful to have an experienced guide or interpreter to provide us with maps of the territory. I often work with clients who want to find fulfilling relationships, create a thriving career/business, feel comfortable in their bodies, deepen their spiritual journeys, or are new parents and want to give their babies the best start possible. I encourage you to take a first step and call or Skype me. (707)529-3030.

I am a Licensed MFT in both California and Idaho. I am located in Boise, Idaho and currently provide telehealth in both Idaho and California. Therapy should help you improve your life. Though it can take time to get the most out of therapy, my goal is that we see improvement all along the way in your ability to function and manage. A significant percentage of my counseling experience has been working with people on the Autism spectrum (most often with those identifying as having Asperger's). We work together on how to navigate social and work life. I also focus on helping people learn how to manage better in their romantic relationships, which are often confusing and unsatisfying. I offer a free 15 minute consultation via video conference (or by telephone, if you are not able to do video conference). We can talk over why you are interested in therapy, and there will be time to ask me some questions. This is important to do prior to starting therapy.

Each of us is unique. We all come from different backgrounds and cultures. People suffer in different ways and pain can manifest itself through our mental health in various forms such as depression, anxiety, and a myriad of physical and health problems. My goal is to help you make positive changes in your life in order to become the person you aspire to be. I believe no matter how challenging the process, we need to be content and be our authentic selves. In order to do this, we need to explore our struggles and gain insight and make positive change in our lives. I specialize in pre-marital, couples, individual and child therapy. My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, family discord, addiction, eating disorders, and LBGTQ issues. I have been in the counseling field for the past 20 years. I utilize a person-centered, cognitive-behavioral and family systems approach. I am educated, well trained, and experienced in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is a form of psychotherapy which uses eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to assist trauma victims in processing distressing memories and beliefs. It is commonly used for the treatment of PTSD, depression, and other anxiety disorders.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from different psychotherapy orientations. This allows me to tailor therapy to your needs and allows for a truly collaborative process in deciding where we go and how. Since successful therapy depends on a strong relationship between client and therapist, my first priority is nurturing that bond by creating a safe and supportive environment. I believe therapy is most effective when it is flexible, demystified, and client-centered, so you can expect me to be transparent about my ideas and approaches. My style is at times infused with humor and is always warm and direct. You are already the expert on you. As your guide and advocate, I'll help you develop the insight, curiosity, and courage to create the life you want, whether you are looking to reduce anxiety, feel more joy, or release the past. If you are facing sadness, anxiety, trauma, or dependence, finding and contacting a therapist is likely a daunting process and a huge leap of faith. Congratulations on taking the first steps -- you're already closer to your fullest life and your truest self.

I believe that our moments of greatest struggle can also hold the most potential for growth and self-discovery. By giving ourselves a supportive space to explore the places that feel painful or stuck, we open ourselves to a wealth of information about our deepest desires, strengths, and wisdom. This makes it possible to live with greater self-compassion, freedom in our actions, and ease in our relationships. Whether you are navigating a significant life transition, suffering from anxiety, depression, or trauma, I am dedicated to providing a safe and respectful space to embark on this journey. I offer psychotherapy for individual adults and teens. I also offer specialized services for prenatal/postpartum women, and therapy to support parents and young children age 0-5. Understanding the poignance and importance of this period, I spent much of my early training studying how to best support early parent-child relationships. I'm a Certified EMDR Therapist. EMDR is a highly effective treatment for trauma that greatly accelerates the healing process. I am also a Level 2 trained Internal Family Systems therapist and I am working towards certification. I Find IFS a highly effective therapy for symptom relief and self integration. And I love using it with clients.

Making that first call to a therapist can be frightening. Feelings of pride embarrassment, shame and or financial issues can get in the way of living a more fulfilled life. My focus is to provide a welcoming and safe environment and to lend support to couples, individuals and families who are facing life's many challenges. My specialty is in working with couples and relationships. I strongly believe that providing an opportunity for one to experience intense emotions along with the ability to communicate these feelings in a non destructive and respectful mannor is the first step in healing and strengthening a relationship. Becomming aware of triggers such as fear, mistrust, feeling minimized, etc. helps manage behaviors that are triggered by intense feelings. By managing our feelings we take better care of ourselves, become better listeners, express empathy, sensitivity and become a healthier partner. This in turn invites, respect, honesty, trust, intimacy and a sense of well being. Please feel free to contact me with any special questions or concerns. Evenings and Saturday appointments are available
