I work with children, teens, and adults who might be experiencing overwhelming feelings and emotions, are stuck in disruptive patterns, or are feeling detached from the things that were once loved. Perhaps there has been a significant change, traumatic event or challenges at school that have made things feel different than the way they were. Sometimes you might not be sure what has changed but feel that something is just not right. Support can be helpful if you or your child are struggling with sleep concerns, physical aches and pains, behavioral changes, or an overall sense of worry or stress. View 4 Photos Through individual counseling or play therapy, I help clients explore the places that feel stuck and find healing in the things that get in the way of the life they want to live. I specialize in childhood bereavement and am skilled in working with many of the challenges children and adults face when confronted with all aspects of grief and loss. I celebrate the unique ways people of all ages and orientations experience the world and can offer support as both a parent resource and a general advocate for your success. My practice is culturally sensitive, and LGBTQ+ affirming. Please feel welcome to reach out to hear how we could work together to meet your goals.

Do you struggle with motivation, decision-making, shame/guilt or direction? Are you feeling overwhelmed or anxious? Do you struggle with substance abuse? Are you going through transition and struggling to find your own genuine direction? Are you nervous to ask for help? Are you concerned therapy won't be effective? Beginning treatment is a big decision and finding an effective and compassionate therapist that can ease your transition into therapy is very important. I have a warm, genuine and direct approach and believe you will find our work together will be deeply effective and the results positive and lasting. I noticed while clients may feel comfortable in their ability to rationally think and possess comfort with emotions there can be a lack of communication between rational parts and the emotional parts. We can bridge that gap and take the shame or overwhelm out of growing and learning about ourselves. It has been my experience that many people bump up against some difficult issues and become very self critical. I work with clients to decrease the criticism and increase compassion so growing can be a positive and enlightening experience.

You’ve experienced a great loss or significant trauma and your world feels dark and confusing. You feel lost, overwhelmed, anxious, angry, numb, and exhausted – often all at the same time. You’re wondering who you are now and if you’ll ever feel like yourself again. I get it. I’ve experienced it. Grief and traumatic stress are messy and unruly, and they definitely don’t obey clearly defined stages or fit neatly into any timeframe. Still, as painful as this is to hear, grief is normal, natural, and necessary. And, healing from a traumatic experience is possible. You don’t have to face either alone. I’d be honored to walk with you. While I don’t have magic words to quickly end your anguish or cure your grief (because those words don’t exist), what I do offer is a place where it can be truly seen. A place to honor your love, your loss, and your experience, speak without fear of judgment, be respected for the pace and shape of your journey, and feel supported along the way. I use office-based and equine-assisted counseling to help you identify healthy ways of acknowledging your grief or trauma, coping with it, and learning to carry it when you’re ready to move forward. Ultimately, we’ll work together to help you feel like your life has meaning and purpose that honors your experience and isn’t solely defined by it.

Life can be tough and along the way we make adaptations to do our best to survive. We are always doing the best we know how, with what we have. However, sometimes those adaptations no longer serve us and possibly even harm us. I work with patients to work through these adaptations to have a richer, freer life. I have twenty years of clinical experience with a range of populations. My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic. The aim of this approach is to gain greater self-awareness and greater capacity for living a purposeful and satisfactory life. I specialize in treating adults and adolescents struggling with eating disorders, body image and food issues, addictions, anxiety, depression, and relational issues.

As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) trained in IFS, I am absolutely passionate about helping those impacted by sexual integrity issues. I work with "addicted parts" using individual, couple, and group therapy modalities. I am quite aware of relational trauma that partners of sex, porn, and relationship addicts experience, and I compassionately work to guide addicted parts through isolating and shame-filled experiences. My role is to help reduce this shame and systematically get to the root of the addictive and compulsive behaviors that have led to intimacy disorder issues. As a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), I hold extensive expertise in treating those affected by compulsive sexual behavior having gone through my own recovery journey from sex, porn, and relationship addiction. I am trained in the 30-Task Recovery model (group therapy), PACT Couples therapy model, and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) for individuals. My unique background working in the rail transportation industry for 20+ years allows for relate-ability in trauma (train/auto accidents). As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, let me help you process traumatic episodes using Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma Resilience (TRM), Brainspotting, and Alpha-Stim Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (CES).

Can't fall sleep or wake up tossing and turning far too early? Summit Behavioral Sleep Medicine uses the principles of behavioral sleep medicine to address adult and pediatric insomnia. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) has been identified as the first line of treatment for chronic insomnia by both the National Institutes of Health and the British Association for Psychopharmacology. Our behavioral interventions can also help you optimize use of your CPAP machine to correct abnormal breathing patterns. Even if you cope fairly well with your loss of sleep, improving your sleep can result in remarkable improvements your mood, energy, and overall health. Personally and professionally, you could benefit from the increased productivity, enhanced memory and more efficient problem solving that accompany healthy sleep. CBT-I is as effective as medication to improve sleep, and may offer more lasting benefits. CBT-I can benefit individuals who choose to remain on sleep medication, and it is also an ideal treatment for those who would like to sleep without relying on medication.
